Guest Nickell
To wear during hunting season, I need something warm and not too expensive...Any tips or anyone got anything?
johnf
You may think I'm crazy, but I know a guy who got a set of scentblocker cold weather gear at the salvation army for $20 (bibbers and parka). Check Walmart. You can get cheap long sleeved t-s, fleece and light jackets. Put a few layers on, when you get too warm just take a layer off. AdvantageTimberLou
Check out Sportsman's Warehouse. Just got their catalog today and always great deals to be had there. Garage Sales are great places too! Wives tend to sell it when the husbands aren't looking! Probably why your buddy John found a ScentBlocker suit at the Salvation Army! That was a find! lil hunter
I always wear redhead (basspro) silent hide camo shirts/pants. The only thing I don't like about them is that the sleeves and pantlegs are always too short for me. Other than that, they are comfortable, pants pockets are big and I've never had a pair rip, and they come in a pretty good variety of patterns. There are definetly cheaper options out there, but these are what I have worn for the past 5-6 years, and have had probably 5 sets, and liked them all. AdvantageTimberLou
I meant to save The Sportsman Guide, not warehouse. Check out their web site: www.sportsmanguide.com They have some great deals. One thing you will regret is going too cheap and getting clothes that are not warm and you get cold while hunting. Being cold on stand leads to nothing but leaving early and missing out on hunting.
