TexasDeerHunter
I have been looking for a good side by side .410. The ol Winchester model 21 is way out of my budget, I like the model 23 but it is made in Japan. So I found an L.C. Smith marketed by Marlin that is Italian made. The gun looks good , but I don't know much about them. Any info on the gun would be appreciated.
WABS
TexasDeerHunter - I don't have a lot of informion about the .410 you mentioned, but I bought a very nice used .410 side by side made by Boito (Brazil) about a year ago for $285 and have been VERY pleased with my purchase. I even use it to shoot practice skeet rounds. It is a great little shotgun to have fun with.
Guest beagleman
If it doesnt have to be new look for a EAA IZH 43. These guns are built for competetive shooting but are hard to beat imo for hunting. I beleive since Remington started importing them and calling them Spartans they have kept the .410 in a SxS. But they are also a few 100 more. Another option is a pair of skeeters, I just ordered a pair of 28ga skeeters for my IZH43 12ga.

I have one, and it is a great Squirrel/Rabbit getter, especially with #5 shot.
TexasDeerHunter
I want the gun mainly for dove and quail , I have looked at all those you guys have mentioned, but am pretty sure that I want an Italian made gun like the LC Smith. Beretta does not offer a side by side in .410 or I would definately get one. I have looked at the Merkel guns and they would be choice # 2 due to cost. My budget is about $2500.00 and I definately want to make sure I get a gun that will last. Thanks for all the input.

How about a 20 gauge in a S/S or a 28 gauge? Of the three you'll probably be happier with the 20 gauge.
Texan_Til_I_Die
I wouldn't rule out the Winchester 21. I've got a 101 20 gauge that was made in Japan for Winchester and it's extremely high quality. Definitely my "go to" shotgun.

TexasDeerHunter
Hav you tried the website? www.lcsmith.org I can find a gun online for sale, I just can not find one anywhere close to put my hands on. Was hoping someone here has had the chance to see the quality or lack thereof upclose before I buy one on line.
