Muzzy61
I've seen all the commericals for Buck bran, and of course it looks like it works great. Has anyone here used it? Did it seem to help attracting deer or at least holding them for a shot attempt?
wtnhunt
Welcome to the forums. Have never tried it, baiting is not legal here. Do recall reading where someone used rice bran and claimed it was about the same thing and they had good results.
Flintlock1776
I tried it I've seen all the commericals for Buck bran, and of course it looks like it works great. Has anyone here used it? Did it seem to help attracting deer or at least holding them for a shot attempt? It jammed up my Kenco Straight Shooter feeder. I think it may tend to absorb moisture and then swells. May be ok mixed in corn on an open feeder but I'll keep it out of my feeders.
wvshedhunter
my friend uses buck bran and is getting some awesome trail cam pics so the deer seem to like it good here
Guest Finn
$6.99 for 5 pounds at Cabelas. That's $140 a 100 pounds. Corn is around $7.50 a 100. Can not believe it's worth that. I'll stick with corn.
Guest bowhuntr_15
I've never tried buck bran, but i've heard it is pretty much the same as rice bran!! And we use rice bran here where we hunt and we LOVE using it!!! It is alittle bit more expensive down here than corn, just like a dollar a bag higher!!! We just buy it at local feed stores and the deer absolutely love it, especially bucks!! It might just be me, but I've been settin in stands many of times and seen bucks walk right around the corn to see if there was any rice bran left.....I shot two pretty good bucks and one was just on a trail. The one I killed on the trail had rice bran all over his nose. But for all I know, I will keep usin the rice bran. Good luck on your choice and ur season!!! Guest Kelby Wright
i really know nothing about the buck bran, but I mainly use rice bran adn they love it. this past season i pilled 100 pounds of corn and 100 pounds of rice bran and the rice bran was gone in two days and it took 3 days for them to completly eat the corn. Guest bowhuntr_15
The way we use rice bran is we just pour a pile on to the ground and it works just fine. And if it gets wet, its just that much better down here. I guess when it gets wet they can smell it better or it just taste better I dont know. But good luck to ur season!!
