smo
Just wondering how the mast crop and apple crop was going to be in other areas. In my area the apple crop and acorn crop is going to be spotty due to a hard freeze in late April. I think this is going to be the year to get a 140" buck hopefully. Tominator
Apples around here took a hard hit. A few orchards aren't even going to open this year. I'm not going to spray my apples this year--not worth it. A little too early to tell on the akerns just yet.
maddhunter
We had hit and miss on the freeze getting the acorn crop. Some areas were hit harder than others. The emediate area we hunt is going to be about a 60% loss on acorns and pecans.

Guest wildotter
Acorns took a hit here due to the late freeze as well. Don't hunt around apples, so I'm not sure about them.
wtnhunt
No fruit on any of our trees here due to the late hard freezes we had. Read an article back in April or May about how hard the state was hit by the late freezes this spring, was pretty bad statewide. Think the mast crops will be weak as well due to the lack of rain in the spring. With the mast crops looking poor this year, the harvest numbers should be up for the state if what the wildlife biologists are saying is true. Guess we will see, food plots and ag crops should see a rise in activity with lesser available food in the woods.
