Turkeygirl
Anyone getting anxious for hunting season to start? I can't wait for archery season to open in October...nor can I wait for the Sept. 1 squirrel opener! I may hunt some woodchucks this weekend though, and shoot my bow. How about the rest of you? HuntnMa
i got my results of my quota hunts the other day....i didnt put in for any archery hunts because a gun hunt is easier to trade for an archery than an archery is for a gun hunt, and i didnt have any rejections, but i will be hunting a couple of days of bow.....trying not to get too excited about it yet....maybe after they start rubbing and scraping the excitement will build but until i know where i'll be hunting for sure, i'll be happy just being out there looking....next year i will have the rejections to be able to put in for the hunts the way i usually do.....so God willing , i'll be out there every hunt.... Gettin' real focused on finishing the tree trimming and building new flower beds. Going to do some scouting this week. Turkeygirl, will your nursing school be local for you? Guest Jersey_Girl_Hunts
Heck Yes. My boyfriend, his dad, brother-in-law, and I went to West Virginia the last weekend in June to do work on the property we hunt. We (well, he (boyfriend)cut the fields, and we staked out a new tree for my stand. We are headed down again in September to tend a feedplot. Signs of deer are all over, I think it is going to be a good season. As for NJ hunting, I am anxious. The land we hunt up here is pretty productive but the deer are smart. The orchard plot is bearing apples this year, and BF keeps up with clearing the brush and mowing the fields so the deer are encouraged to feed. I am taking up archery this year also. I've started shooting an old recurve, just for practice. I hope to pick up a Hoyt Selena by the middle of August. I will not bowhunt this year, but I am excited to start shooting and gain proficiency with the bow now, so I can hunt the 2008 archery season in NJ. M00N
I'm more anxious than ever! I just can't wait for archery season to roll around. I got my license and next thing for me to do is apply for doe/dmap tags. Of course I'm always year round (except in bad weather) working on the bow.
