buckee
To be perfectly honest, I doubt whether we will be having another Colorado Elk Hunt (forum member get-together) for a few years at least. It took a lot for SteveB (with Lukes help) to set this thing up, plus scouting, etc. silvertip_co also did a lot of scouting in the area, just to find a good camp location, and we were supposed to have over 25 folks show up. There was only around 1/3 that amount, that showed up. It was a bit disheartening, even though we all had a great time anyway. Sounds like the eastern get-togethers have been a lot more successful. Yep, there sure was some disappointment in the amount of people that confirmed, but didn't make the trip. But that's the way life is sometimes things just come up out of the blue to ruin planned trips for folks ( NO ONES FAULT it just happens),,, but hey we made the best of it and I had a great time with some great people... I've got some memories that will be cherished until the day I'm long gone from this earth.. I look forward to hooking back up with my buddy Steve B. and the gang for a Speed Goat hunt if that pans out for 2008 ..
silvertip_co
I was mowing the back 40 today and guess what I found. 4 big sheets of thick OSB board with " RT Camp" spray painted on each board. I forgot I had them things. Brought back fond memories.

silvertip_co
Yep that it for sure. Thanks for posting the foto Luke. It''s not one I had in my RT Elk Hunt album. Erica and I took lots of fotos but I know the other guys did also and some of them we havent seen yet, such as this great one. Maybe we can re-use the signs for the proposed 2008 RT WYolope hunt ... buckee
Man, that picture brings back some good memories That was a fun day. That country was just so, so beautiful, and was over so fast. I could have spent another week up there, easy, but I might have gotten kicked out of camp...LOL That day we spent down at the lake was cold, eh Luke, but the scenery was so awesome, you just couldn't get enough of it. I kept looking across that lake expecting to see a herd of elk moving around on the mountainside at any moment. It was breath-taking scenery. silvertip_co
Tincup's just a great place. Trying to get the wife to buy the restaurant there. I can retire to the wilderness and great food then.
