How many?

I don't think anyone can really answer this question.

It would depend on how many options you want, when it comes to wind direction, deer travel, food sources, bedding areas, etc,.

It would also depend on what method of hunting you guys are planning on doing, bow or firearms, for safety reasons.

Open fields vs wooded areas, etc

There's just to many variables involved here.

If there is just 3 of you hunting it, I can tell you right now, there is room for at least 6 stands.

3 for the prevailing wind direction, and 3 for those off days, when the wind is coming from that "Other" direction.

Thanks for your input, I'm more worried about over crowding this area. Each stand will be in a respectable distance from one another. We are thinking about putting up one stand for each of us. This would give each hunter about 40 acres each.

I agree with buckee, ther really are a lot of things you have to take in consideration. For the hunting pressure part I personally have done something on the 500 acre farm my Dad, brother and I hunt on......we have found over the last 3 years that when we limit ourselves to only 3x or 3 sits a week, we have recorded more deer sightings. We feel that by doing this we give ourselves a better opportunity to kill a deer. Now as the pre-rut starts to get going, we begin to increase the number of times in the stand. Hope you find the right stand sights and good luck this fall!:)
