robk
Re: Caught a Spotlighter last one we caught was on a friends land and i am under the impression the person we caught was a known poacher and we called the local rangers and other authorities and the good part was we caught him when he shot the deer. we were doing some work and doing some late evening topping off some feeders and i was on top helping him put some corn in the feeder and we sw the guy climb out and stand where we could see him take aim intot he spot light area. we ducked down just in case and the gun went off. we saw the deer gop down not 50 yards form us so we got quiet and had our rifles and our won flashlights so when they were gutting the deer we could all catch them. the ranger was just down the road and had heard it my friend called him and he called the sherriff and we met them at the deer. they weren't in any hurry but they lost their truck thri firearms and they weren't licensed so they did soem time in jail and paid the maximum fine which unfortunately wasn't that much for a juveniulle but their parents were made to pay the price and they had to do soem community service for well over a 100 hours and they can't hunt in oklahoma or anywhere for the enst 10 years i think they got . i didn't have to show up nor di the owner of the land they had already pleaded guilty so it was a formality i know this i don't think them going to a juevi hall will do them any good but i am hoping nd losing auto and license for both hunting and driving should make them take notice rob k
buckee
Re: Caught a Spotlighter That's a good story robk. It's always nice to see a poacher or poachers get caught with the goods. Being young like they were, I hope they learned a lesson from it and never attempt or think of it again. Not being able to legally hunt for 10 years might teach a young person a lesson, but sadly enough, taking away most poachers hunting licences doesn't hurt them in the least....because they are, afterall..POACHERS. and couldn't care less about whether they have a licence or not. ilhnter
Re: Caught a Spotlighter Great Job!!! The property i hunt on had 3 deer poached off it like a week ago. My dad was driving by the property and out in the corn field laid three deer right next to each other, all does and all had been shot with a .22. Its sad....glad some of them are getting caught
