buckee
Has anyone tried the FOB. I have no problem understanding the arrow flight part, but I'd have to invest in a new drop-away rest and get rid of my Whisker Biscuit. I couldn't see these things going through a Whisker Biscuit. http://www.starrflight.com/ The FOB http://www.starrflight.com/video_demo.php http://www.starrflight.com/video_fob_vs_fletch.php The FOB at 100 yards http://www.starrflight.com/video_fob_at_100yds.php Rests and FOBs http://www.starrflight.com/video_will_fit_fallaway.php Why a Fall-away Rest http://www.starrflight.com/video_fallaway_rest.php Demonstration Video http://www.starrflight.com/video_commercial.php
okiedog
I kind of followed these when they came out. Neat idea, but not for me. I still like the look and flight of feathers. They must be used with a fall-away rest for clearance, they cannot be used with a wisker biscuit rest. I think they come with a round disk that slides on your arrow to check for proper clearance of your rest.

okbowman
Looks cool, but I have a lot invested in my present set up and I'd have to change a lot to use those!
Guest Finn
Interesting concept. I bought some Turbo Nocks when they were hot and they flew well with field tips, but not with broadheads. I'm going to stick with my Blazers
Guest Mountain_Dragon
I'm always a proponent of new technology, but the fact that you must use a drop-away rest highly restricts it's use and, in my mind, dooms it to failure.
Dawg
They look to "toyish" to me....don't think I'll be trying them.

Why would the fact that you must use a drop-away doom the FOB's to fail? Almost everyone I know uses a drop-away rest for hunting.

Tony
Why would the fact that you must use a drop-away doom the FOB's to fail? Almost everyone I know uses a drop-away rest for hunting. really? thats kind of rare. here in iowa and across the country tons of guys use whisker biscuts and other fixed type rests. i have shot many 3d shoots and even worked in a archery shop for a while. we sold tons of whisker biscuts and other fixed rests. drop aways were only about 25 percent. its just a fad. they actually bring no better accuracy than normal fletching. if they did bring incresed accuracy, all the Pros would be shooting them for indoor and for 3D. when that happens, i might give them a go. cjsportsman
I have tried the FOB's and they do fly awesome. They fly the same as convential fletching @ 20 yards, but the further out say 40-50 yards is where they shine. I installed them on some Gold Tip XT 5575's. I'm shooting an 07 Bowtech Allegiance with a Muzzy Zero-Effect rest. I had an Ultra rest installed but the FOB kept making contact due to the arm bouncing back up They are pretty cool if you can get past the look of them on your arrow. I tried them with my 100 grain stingers installed and they grouped perfect with field tips.
