Just by my name you can tell that i am a big fan of Remington. But i have a NEF Break Open Stainless Muzzleloader and love it. Any experience with the stainless handi rifles in 30-06 or 270? Seems like a value compared to Thompson Center. Replacement Barrels are much cheaper. The CVA looks ok but i think they are made in Brazil. The upgrade barrels are a direct purchase and drop in like the TC and are more expensive than HR/NEF but without the hassle to have fitted like NEF. Talk it Up.

NEF or H&R is a great product. Great little Rifles for the price. They are very accurate.

Ive noticed their resale value is good too. I can pick up a new one in just about any cal for around $200. At gun shows they sale for that used (and they do sale).

If you look into a cal that offers moderate recoil (such as a .30-06) you might look into a recoil pad. The only problem Ive ran into is their weight and frame. They seem to "offer" a little more recoil. Regardless, that shouldn't be enough to detour any shooter looking for a new Single shot. They are 100% worth the asking price.

They are a very good bang for the buck,I had one in 22 hornet and that thing was crazy accurate, but,I was kinda dumb and traded it in for their 12ga Ultra slug Hunter and that thing is super accurate, even as accurate as most rifles.IMHO get one in either 7mm-08 or 25-06,you shouldn't even need to worry about needing a 2nd shot because those things are deadly.
