Guest remingtonman
What is your favorite whitetail ammo? I shoot 30-06 Remington Core-Lokt Ultra in 150 grain. i love the Hornady SST muzzleloader bullet. Thinking of changing to Hornady SST Interbond in 150 grain or maybe Light Mag in same bullet. What is your favorite?
OJR
I have used the Hornady SST's and Interbonds in the 150 grain bullets in the '06 and they work great! I believe this thread should be in the Rifle section!

LifeNRA
Federal Premium 130 grain spitzer boat tail, for my Browning 270 A-bolt Medallion. It is what my gun prefers, tried others. This one shot the best. Its always best to try different ammo manufactures to see what the gun likes.
Shaun_300
I shoot Winchester Supreme Ballistic Tip 180grs out of my Browning BLR .300 WSM, either those or Remington Core-lokt PSP 150grs. They both shoot great out of my rifle. If I'm sitting in a wide open field where shooting over 200 yards is favourable, I usually carry the 150gr bullets. In the bush I use the 180s. VermontHunter
My .270 Stainless Stalker A-Bolt loves the 150grn. Fusions ... ;)
stevebeilgard
you're shooting a great load, but a bit on the heavy side. still, no problem. if you saw dakota's elk show on tv a few weeks ago, you'll see what a 150 interbond did on elk. 2 shots, two 6 point bulls. same 30-

wtnhunt
My model 700 in .270 likes 150 grain core lokts.
Jeramie
There is NOTHING wrong with a Corelokt. Great, great round. They are cheap and very effective. However not every gun likes the same brand. I have guns that refuse to shoot Corelokts in a good pattern. I have others that will drive tacks with Corelokts. Out of my .30-06, 150grn Corelokt. Ill be carrying a new to me .270 in the woods this fall. So far the Corelokts are shooting great but Im thinking of hand loading some Hornady and giving them a try. Btw, welcome to the forums! Dawg
I use the Corelokt 150 grain in my 30-30, does great!! I have killed several deer and hogs with it. In my Model 96 6.5X55 Swedish Mauser I use 100 grain ammo that my father loads himself...not sure of the brand and all.
Texan_Til_I_Die
7 Rem Mag Winchester Supreme Ballistic Silvertips 140 gr. They group 4 inches at 400 yards out of my slightly modified Savage stainless. Best I've ever witnessed from factory ammo.

Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
My Savage .270 likes Remington core-lokt 130s, my encore muzzleloader like to spit out 250gr hornady SST's with 100gr. 777 pellets
robk
i reload and use rl 15 52.5 grs and a 130 gr barnes triple shock bullet for deer. knocks them down. also good for hogs as well rob k
Bachflock
Unforntunately for me its usually my .30-Ford, at about 66 fps (abt 45 mph?), crumpled bumper and 4-45 air conditioning - 4 windows down at 45 mph! LOL
Guest kunegos
My Browning Stainless Stalker shoots Federal Power-Shocks percectly. I was thrilled to see the cheap stuff group better than the premium. Its less than half the price!
Strut10
More often than not, my go-to deer load is a 180 Speer Grand Slam over a book-spec, load of IMR-4350 in one of my .300 Win Mag's. Groups 5/8" - 1 1/2" out of 3 different .300's and plants whitetails handily.
quackmaster4
My model 70 .270 shoots awesome with 130 gr. corelokts. As long as I do my part, it groups 1 1/2" to 1' at 100 yards. My Omega does OK with 295 gr. Powerbelts, but I think it can do better. One more excuse to go to the range.

Great price, great expansion, and great weight retention! They are truly deadly. Ive never lost a dear to one in a .30-06! I know there are tons of choices out there and you can spend as much as you want but for deer, they are more than enough!
maddhunter
In my Browning .308 I use 150grn Corelocts. Thinking about trying the Barnes Triple shock or the MR-X bullets.

bwlacy
.300 H&H, Win model 70, handloads with Barnes 180 TSX. By far the most accurate round I have found for this rifle. .30-06 Remington model 760 I shoot 150 core-lokts. I haven't tried anything else, they shoot good, and kill deer with no problem. .30/.30 Marlin model 336 I shoot 170 round nose core-lokts. Very nice short range woods gun, killed everydeer I've shot at with this weapon. Matt
