Tim Andrus
Tonight ,I dropped my Hoyt off at the bowshop for a once over ( check up that is) . Id rather have someone who does it everyday, than me saying it looks ok . And then I started the transition from fingers to release. Wasnt bad at all ! Now for them to get my new G5 sight mounted and away we go . I was excited so I thought id pass it on. 20 years of finger shooting, and now to release . thanks to Realtree I have my only finger shot saved on my Illinois hunt on Monster bucks 14. Hope it continues to be a easy switch. tim

And I swear by the True Talker grunt call! tim

buckee
Good to see you Tim, and good to hear your health is OK. Sounds like you have a great set-up for this season. I'm still hooked on the Montec G5's. I'll have to try those other puppies out some day.
Guest Finn
Congrats on the new stuff, Tim. Don't know of many guys who shoot fingers anymore. We shot tabs for a while and then switched to a release back in the 80s. Good luck with the change and look forward to hearing how it all works for you. MUDRUNNER
Sounds sweet! I was an "old school" guy till about 6 years ago and always shot with fingers.I seen a slow mo video a buddy had of how the string twists with your fingers when you draw and makes the arrow fly with a wobble so ended up getting a release. It's way easier on the old fingers too.Sounds like you should be ready to wackem' and stackem' come huntiung season. Let us know how you like the sight.
Turkeygirl
Glad to hear you are on the mend....and good luck with the release! I heard the G5 sights are pretty nice!
AdvantageTimberLou
man finger shooting, that takes me back. You will love a release, hard to convert over but its like going from a non dropway rest to one. Simply awesome once you make the move. You will love those G5 strikers, sharpest broadhead I have ever seen, almost cut yourself looking at them! They fly awesome too. Glad your healing well and looks like the Hoyt is going to be ready to smoke some bruiser bucks. Best of luck to you this fall!
Ohiobucks
Good to hear your health is there Tim. When I made the switch to a release, I went to the Winn C12 release. It is a relax type release where you hold the trigger during your draw/anchor and release to fire. It is more natural to someone that has been shooting fingers for a while IMO. I know Winn isn't the only manufacturer to make this type of release, try one, I think you'll like them more than the pull trigger type. Good luck brother! Guest razortec
hey tim, when i used to shoot finger i didn't even use and leather fingers or tabs i just used my bare fingers. and i shot my first deer with fingers. it was a BIG doe and it was 20 yards and i made a perfect lung shot. but i am still very glad i switched to release. i am shooting the little goose. it's a GREAT release. Swamphunter
You'll love the G5 sight....I do. I have the G5 Optix ME sight, and also have the G5 meta peep in 3/16th size, and the peep and the sight housing compliment each other well at my draw length. Griz
Glad to hear that your doing alright Tim... You'll really like shooting with a release. I have seen several finger shooters that would try a release and would never go back to fingers.lol I'm sure it fills alittle dirrerent to ya but after a while it will be 2nd nature to ya... I ordered the same sight that you got for my Mathews Switchback. Can't wait for it to come in and get it straped on my bow... Good Luck to ya Tim... Best Wishes... Griz...
