hogwild63
I am looking for opinions on a good bow for a 12 year old youth. My son is 12 and has a small Team Realtree Brave youth combo that he has been toying with for years. He is pretty god with it but has out grown it a couple of years ago. I know nothing about bows. I do work p/t at Academy Sports but they are very limited on bows. I do like the Browning Micro Adrenaline - which Academy has in stock. If there is a previous thread on this subject, please provide the link. Thanks
deerkillr777
mirco adrenalin or micro midas is 2 great bows and both verry good for youth just starting out. but it all depends on his draw lenth and his draw weight on what bow to get
Squirrelhunter91
I shot the Browning Micro Midas 3 for three years in the 30#-40# model.. It was a great bow for the money and I killed plenty of animals with it. I even got my first deer with it. Now they have the Micro Midas 4 out, which I think is even cooler looking with an all black riser and parallel limbs. But any bow that can easily adjust draw length without a press is a great youth bow.
Guest Finn
Bought my son a Micro Adrenaline for Christmas of 2005. We got the 40-50 pound one and we're very happy. It's a great starter bow and the price is pretty reasonable.

bowin_in_illinois
This is a good youth bow that they can grow with. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=netcon&id=0046416417837a&navCount=0&podId=0046416&parentId=cat600266&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=QW&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat600266&hasJS=true
Jodyslilbro
Parker Buckshot is a good one. You can adjust length yourself from 18 to 28in and starts at either 20 and goes all the way up to 50lbs. Plus it's very light and suitable. 257bob
The Parker Buck Shot Jr. and the Diamond Edge are the two that I would recommend. The Brownings are OK at best. For about $20 more you get much better accessories with the two I mentioned. I purchased the Parker for my wife last fall for her first bow and it is working out great, but I probably would have bought the Diamond had it been available. Of course if you are looking for the best: The Bowtech Equalizer has got to be it.
maddhunter
I bought my son a Mathews Ignition. It is awesome !!!!!! He loves it. preacherman
I was going to mention the Mathews Ignition as well. But I really think you can go higher than a 24 inch draw length. Looking the other day for my wife and saw them in a 25 inch draw length. It is a good bow, for a good price.
hogwild63
Thaks to all for your suggestions. I have seen most of the bows mentioned except the ignition. I got my homework cut out. The main thing about the adrenaline is that I get a 15% discount on an already low price.
