BTW has anyone noticed that next season(08) landowners in KS will not be alowed to get a nonresident transferable tag to resale,,,guess those whom dont draw next year will just be SOL

Me and my buddies hunt Kansas every year, unit 7. We are pretty fortunate to get a buck tag about every year. Those of us who don't draw buck tags used to go and harvest doe. The state has made it to where you must have a buck tag to harvest doe know and that makes absolutely no sense. They constantly complain that not enough doe are taken and yet they make it more difficult for hunters to obtain doe tags.

Hey TC, sounds like you are going to have to come up and meet us this year.

Brad

yep i,m gonna have to do that for sure,,we never seemed to be up there at the same time last year,, having to work weekends sorta made it hard to hook up with ya,, I,m excited bout this season landowner planted beans and corn this year and he got it in the ground late so the hunting outa be great, I also picked up a half section to the east of where i was hunting last year,, good to chat with ya KS later

Thanks TDH...their on line search is a new feature.

Unfortunately, I didn't draw a Kansas tag this year. :o

Looks like I just might spend some extra time in Iowa come November since I did draw an archery tag there.

RHINO check ebay theres NR tags for sale on there, i got a buddy in MO, whom found a guy on ebay with 6 NR transferable tags in pratt/kingman area,,i could get ya in touch with him

We ended up tagging out last year with a couple of nice bucks. There seemed to be alot of young bucks in the 100 inch class, more than we have ever seen. Hope they all grew some this year. Based on what I have heard so far it sounds like this year should be a good one. Good Luck to everyone.

i noticed alot of 100-125 inchers last year also, i had prolly 6 of them that i,d see most everyday i hunted,,i betting with all the moisture we,ve had this summer theres gonna be some dandy bucks roaming around this season,,i,ve never seen this area,s browse stay so green and thick through the antler growing season

Thanks but I really don't want to pay the high price for a transferable tag. It's only good in the county where the landowner drew the tag too and I have a preference for hunting one particular place in Kansas that never gets gun hunted. ;) There's always next year but thanks anyway.

I drew an Iowa tag so it's not like I don't have a trip to look forward to this year. I'll probably just spend some extra time in Iowa unless I'm fortunate enough to fill my tag early. Even if I fill my tag early I might hang around with my video camera for the fun of it. :D
