Leo
At this point, I want to let the folks on Realtree know the bill for the taxidermy is officially paid. I was considering asking for the DVD offer to be removed from Realtree at this time. Frankly, response here has been dismal and I am having a hard time not taking it personal. So removing this offer as a pinned topic is definitely preferable to me. I would like to move on with my life. However, I was informed by my friend who has been distributing these DVDs, at his own personal expense, there are still a few more copies available. To repay his kind service, I would like for him to at least recoup the costs of the project with his remaining copies. In addition, I have been overwhelmingly urged by members who have purchased this video to keep offering it. So charity aside, I want to help the guy that helped me. The best way I can do this is to help him get the rest of the DVD copies he has on their way. Though this hasn't been a very popular offering here, I will respect those who have taken the chance to discover this DVDs value. I want to thank those folks now publicly. The emails I have received from folks who have gotten a copy, have brightened many a day for me. Most prevalent is their comments that this DVD is worth having. I also need to thank my wife and SCI who played no small part in making this trip a reality for me. This animal is harvested on video As is this animal Here is a full size frame from the video to prove it.
buckee
There is some great footage in there Leo, and I apologize that this sale was a complete bust in here, (for some unknown reason:() Hey, I got my copy of some great hunts, and get to listen to my buddy Leo now whenever I want to. Awesome job you guys did on that DVD.
Chrud
I'm glad to hear that your taxidermy bill is payed off Leo! I'm disappointed that there wasn't any interested in your DVD also. I've watched mine a couple times now, I can't say that about too many hunting DVD's. As awesome as the hunts are, the photo slideshow at the end is still unbelieveable! unioncountyslayer
I'm going to try not to sound harsh here, but I think if the DVD had been released closer to hunting season the response you were looking for would have been better. I'm sure it is a great watch after reading several members comments, but I wouldn't take it personal that the response (purchases) you were looking for fell short. Good luck getting the rest of them sold.
Tominator
I admire what you have done, but personally, I know I will probably never get to Africa, and I really don't have any interest in watching something that I can't hunt. I'm not trying to be nasty or anything, just trying to give you an idea of why the DVD didn't sell.
BowJoe
I second Tominator on this. Most people have annual DVD's they buy for hunting and most are for deer and most are of RT's MBV's. I don't think it's anything personal so I wouldn't want you to take it that way. Personally, I didn't even hear about your DVD until you mentioned it in this post. I know I am limited to what I buy yearly so I choose what has been a past performer for me and exactly what I enjoy. Have you tried to sell this to Cabela's or Bass Pro or any other major outdoor markets? Do you have sponsors that folks are familiar with or is this like a home video type film? These things do make a difference in what people want to buy since it's our money we're spending. Just a thought.

I'm not trying to be nasty or anything, just trying to give you an idea of why the DVD didn't sell. I had that exact same thought...probably will never hunt Africa and don't really like watching it on TV. But I wanted to help Leo out, so I purchased the DVD. It is by far the most entertaining African hunts I've ever seen. It's more than just hunting, there is a picture slide show from their trip. I'm really glad I didn't let my thoughts on hunting Africa prevent me from getting this great DVD.

Yep, same here, but I'm real glad I didn't let my left hand know what my right hand was doing, when it comes to giving, to help someone out. When it comes to giving, I couldn't care less if I'm getting something I want in return, but in this case, I was more than pleasantly surprised. This DVD is a prized possession in my personal video library now. Thank you LEO, and especially Will for making this possible. It's guys like Will and others, even though he isn't even a member of this website, who spent his/their hard earned money out of his/their own pocket to see a disabled hunter's, dream come true, that impresses me. My hat's off to all you folks involved in making LEO's life a little more exciting, and no-body can take that away from you.

But when I see a hunting show on TV, and they are hunting in Africa, I change the channel. I know Ill never go there. But I also have NO PROBLEMS for those that do! To each their own! I apologize for not reading this sooner! The reason being, is that I have no interests in Africa. Again I apologize.
stevebeilgard
i guess i'm another one just not interested in african animals.
buckee
I'm surprised and disappointed, It's not about what's on the DVD or even if it's any good for that matter (but it is good in spite of things). It was about raising money to help a PERMANTLY DISABLED hunter, not so much about selling a DVD. Everyone missed the whole point of this one. IMHO:( I guess I tried to build up the DVD too much, and should have spent more time talking about you LEO. http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59215 Sorry LEO
