toddyboman
So the rumor is the Mark Cuban is interested in buying the Cubs... Of course I am reading/hearing that the owners have to vote you in to be an owner. So if he puts up the most money to buy and the owners do not want him to be an owner....To bad they have the utlimate say. How interesting would that be for him to be sitting behind home plate yelling crap at the umps. Or him shelling out lots of money to make the cubs good..... Guest Finn
I think he'd be good for the Cubs. Not sure I agree with everything he does, but his team sure seems to like him as an owner. Just win, baby
buckbuster11
I think he would be a great baseball owner. At least then people would actually cover a third team in baseball, not just the Yanks and Red Sox. Although, I hope he gets turned down in Chicago and eventually buys his hometown Pirates. You're really clutching at straws, aren't ya John Boy? You just let your Buco's keep playing farm team for the rest of the league and don't worry about it. buckbuster11
He's stated before he would like to buy the Pirates. He's from Pittsburgh. The problem is, they aren't for sale and there is no telling when they ever might be. But enough about the Pirates and Cubs. Did you see the Yanks last night? It was awesome. They beat the Blue Jays. Now they are only 50 games behind the Red Sox. I wish they would play the Red Sox today. I'd take a sick day and go watch it.
muggs
Oh yeah, how could I miss it??? Don't worry though, you'll have plenty of time to save up some vacation for the next "huge series" between the Yanks and BoSox that will have absolutely no playoff implications. I saw on the ESPN ticker last night that the countdown to their next meeting is at 54 days 9 hours 41 minutes and 7 seconds. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! btw- I TiVoed "The Bronx is Burning Last Night" and I can't wait to watch it. It's not that I love watching an Arabic guy play Reggie Jackson... a black guy, or that I love watching the guy who gets eaten by the aligator in "Lake Placid" play George Steinbrenner, or that I love those insanely fake ears John Torturo has on as he plays Billy Martin...it's just that I love my Yankees!!!!!!! buckbuster11
I heard ESPN is working on another orginal series called "The Pesky Pole is Leaning". It's about the Red Sox and their greatness. Then they are going to run episodes of "The Bronx is Burning" and "The Pesky Pole is Leaning" back to back to back every night followed by a 1 hour edition of Sportscenter which will feature 45 minutes on the Yankees and 8 minutes of the Red Sox. Dude, it is going to be fantastic.
