Benelli SBEII vs. Stoeger M2000

Recommended Posts

Only if you know for shure or have owned these firearms reply!! The Benelli has the same features as the Stoeger

with the exception of the comfort tech and crio.

If the Benelli only has those extra 2 features why does it cost $1500 when you can get a Stoeger for $450??

Is the recoil on the Stoeger more than the Benelli??

If so how much more I am thinking of buying one of these and

I wanna know. Is there that much difference between the Benelli Super Black Eagle II and the Stoeger Model 2000?:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

I have had an M2000 for three years, but don't have a SBEII. I have seen several SBE's over the years and my brother has a M1 Super 90 that I have shot many times. The basic design of the M2000 and Benelli is similar but not exactly the same. The 2000 has the spring in the forend and the Benelli is in the rear stock. The spring in the forend does rattle sometimes but mine has functioned very well. The SBEII is also capable of shooting 3.5" shells where the stoeger is 3" only. Benelli doesn't manufacture the M2000, they own the company that does, Stoeger. They bought it a few years ago. Last I heard stoegers were made in Turkey. The fit and finish on the stoegers are not equal to benelli. My M2000 is camo and it is not nearly as durable as most other gun makers. I have been pleased with the M2000's functioning, but if you expect all the little things you should get with a $1500 gun you will be disappointed probably. I wanted a cheap auto that works, and the Stoeger does, but I can look past the little things. Some people can't.

I have a SBE. A Benelli is the only shotgun you will ever need (very different than want) to own. I have never shot a Stoegger, but in looking at them you can tell a difference in fit, finish and feel. One of them looks like it should be less expensive. Kind of like comparing a CVA muzzleloader (which I have) to TC Encore.

I also had an M2000. I used it a few times and just decided it wasn't the gun for me. Wasn't happy with the quality, but it was cheap. At the time, I paid $375. After about 50 rounds through it, I sold it for $350 and was just happy to be rid of it.

I have both guns myself, I use the M2000 for Goose huntin and the SBEII w/ steady grip for Turkey hunting. I like both guns about the same, the SBEII is the way better gun and the price shows for that but I have never had any issuse with my M2000....they are made by the same company, Benelli owns Stoeger. They are both made here in Maryland. Stoeger is just the poorman's Benelli. I have found that the SBEII has a harder recoil then the M2000. I think thats only I can shoot 3 1/2 throught it. As far as the camo finish I have had no problems with either gun. But as far as craftmenship you can tell that they put more into the SBEII then the M2000. Prob. why you have to pay more...but then again thats why the Stoeger is the poormans Benelli. I hope that helps alittle.
