Man oh man I can't believe I did this...A 24'x4' above ground Swimming pool...

My oldest daughter and son-in-law has it and was wanting to get ride of it. My youngest daughter talked me into it...Man is she good...LOL...

I have to travel to there place and take it down and then figure out where I'm going to set it up at...

The pool is in great shape. It has the sand filter, vacuum, new cover and liner and alot of other extra goodies that go with it...

Total package...$3000.00 big ones...

Get this...

I got it all for FREE!!!!:D

Now I'm going to have to find some time and get this thing up and full of water...

The wife wants it to were she can see the pool from the house. But I have just one little problem...Our ground here is soooo unlevel...

I'm not real sure where to start...

Anybody have any helpful ideas...

I think I'm going to need them...

Our ground was pretty uneven to Dale. I used my tractor with the loader to dig to hard dirt and leveled it up as best as I could, our 4 foot pool is between about 2 1/2 to 3 feet above ground most the way around. A bobcat would work real well for leveling the ground too.

Dale, WORD TO THE WISE, have it installed. Trust me bud. We put our 27' up last year and wow.... If you cant front the cash you better have a lot of hands on deck to help with that bad boy.

Im not sure what people would charge to pull one down and put it back up but if it ain't bad it would be money WELL spent. Also, if you do it yourself make sure its not windy. That metal wall is like a kite and keeping it up and in good condition is a PAIN.

You cant build up to hold the pool. You have to dig down to level so dont bring in sand or dirt thinking you can build it up. Also, when you lay in the liner make sure you have the sand as smooth as glass. Any humps, wrinkles, or holes in the sand are greatly magnified by the liner. Once you get water in that bad boy the wrinkle will be there forever.

Again make sure you have a lot of hands while putting this up. It takes a load of people to get it done! Before you do so Id seriously check around and see what someone would charge. We had 5 people and it like to kill us..... :D

You can call me or PM me if you have any questions. Its only been a year so It still pretty fresh on my memory.

Guest Andrea

We had one gievn to us and we put it up ourselves. When it came time to stand the wall...we had 2 other people help. Wasn't that bad. We put our above ground IN the ground. You can rent a small backhoe and dig it yourself.

When you are preparing the ground for the liner........smooth it as best as you can then put a water sprinkler on it for a couple of hours. Then smooth it again with a rake, then put the sprinkler on it again. This helps TREMENDOUSLY.

the reason u dont build up is becasue once groudn is dug up its expands to 70 % of its origninal size and ocne all the water hits it will creat low spot and sink belive me i do alot of constructon work with my pap and we did that with apool one tiem we learned the hard way thank god it was a good friend and didnt care ot much that the pool was deeper on one side than the other

Wow!!! This thing is bigger then I thought...

I was told lastnight that it was a 24'...

Now I'm told it's even bigger... It's either a 33' or 35' there not real sure. I do know that it's a big pool...

Thanks Jeramie...

I made some phone calls today and found 1 guy that will break it down and set it back up...I have to prep the ground where we are going to set it up at and have all of that ready. His cost...800 bucks...

Yeah! 800 bucks to braek it down and set it back up...

Nope! No-way, can't see it happening...

So I will have lots of help and after we get done I am going to BBQ everyone a nice thick rib eye with all the trimmings...:D

Now this is what I'm thinking of doing...

Please let me know if this will work or not...

I'm going to get some bender board and double it. Drive some grade stakes the back side of it, level it up and fill it full of sand and pack it down. I am going to make the circle with the bender board 2' bigger then the pool...

That should work...Don'tcha think...

WOW !! have bitten off quite the mess ( I mean PROJECT ) ..:eek:

I sure hope they still have the installation manuals for this pool,, things never seem to go back together quite the same way they came apart,, and the manual sure will help.. ;) Even marking items never seems to help..:(

The bender board seems to be a great idea, but I would pick the brain of a pool installer,, or even a contractor that has set these big bad boys up before..;)

Sure GLAD I don't live close enough to offer my help .. :D:D

GOOD LUCK Dale !! ..;)

Dale, think I have a video somewhere on how to setup that we got when we bought our pool. Will take a look and see if I can find it. Really is not that bad if you have a few good hands to help. We only had I think three of us when we first setup our 24 foot pool, used ladders and some other tools to help hold up the walls. Make sure you pick a day that there is little to no wind.

Like Andrea's suggestion on watering the sand too, we did not do that, would have made a big difference if we had. Due for a new liner soon here, will definitely do that next time here.

This is the way ours is and it works well
