stevebeilgard
keep your mind on your work. listen to your teacher. work hard, and study your home study materials. the rest will fall in line for you. if you enjoy what you do, and excell, you'll have a good career. if not, swithch fast. Snipe
I have been in it for over 27 years.. Started out as a Duct Rat..to Installer / Change Out Leadman ...Then to Technician..and now I am a Commercial and Industrial HVAC Estimator... If I had to do it all over again...I would find another line of work... Its a good job if you dont have a family to spend time with... hangunnr
I've been in the trade for 20yrs. The vast majority of my work has been in the commercial / industrial fields. About the only advise I can give you is to pay attention to the older, seasoned guys. They know what works and what dosen't. Most that have been around as long as I have have the scars to prove what dosen't work... It can be a good trade. If you end up going into the service end of the business don't ever become complacent with the level of knowledge you have. The technology is ever evolving. If you don't keep up you'll get left behind. The more you're capable of doing the more you're worth. If I had to do it all over again...I would find another line of work........ I can't tell you how many times I've come home after warping my mind over some tech issue or swinging heavy wrenches that I've had the same thought... hangunnr
