hoss
Well I hope nobody takes this wrong. My youngest son just went yesterday and enlisted in the National Gaurd. Im very proud that he wants to serve this country. Like almost every young man in my famile in the last 50 yrs. I feel all young people should serve in one branch or the other thats just my opp. He still has one yr. of school Im hoping that our men and women will be coming home by then.I know the Gaurd is not like active. My concern is I know alot of Gaurd units are going to the gulf. And Im fine with that. M y oldest son has been there 3 times in yhe last 5 yrs. The oldest is over there now on the USS DENVER. Im very proud of them both I just wish everybody in this country were as proud of my boys and all service men and women as I am. God bless them all

buckee
I'm Canadian, and I'm proud of your boys and you, and all service men and women who serve in both the US and Canada. As a Canadian. I'd like to say, I am embarrassed when I hear the way some Canadians talk about US soldiers and just the USA in general. I don't think they realize how much this Country Canada, hangs on to the shirt-tails of the USA, when it comes to Homeland security. My hat's off to your boys;)
Guest Andrea
Not a thing wrong with being concerned. My Dad was in the Nat'l Guard. Brave thing your sons are doing. We sure thank them. And keep them in our prayers.

Guest bowhunter56
we have this country because of men like your sons. Being a viet nam era vet, patriotism is felt the strongest once you have served, none of us want our sons and daughters in harms way, hopefully this current situation will end soon, and all will be home.. Newarcher
Be proud and be concerned. We are both proud and concerned for him as well. It isn't hard to figure out which elected reps in this Country hate your sons and hate the effects they have in this world.....mostly the same that tried to sell us out on illegal immigration.....vote accordingly. hoss
Now my son has changed his mind about going into the National Gaurd. Hes talking to the Rec. About going active army . I fell better about it. Im not going to say that active is better trained but I feel they are better prepaired then Gaured or Res. Becouse its there every day job. I did a hitch on active then finnished my contract in the Res. There was a world of defference between the two. Maybe not all Res. and Gaurd units are like that but the one I was with was a joke. Thank you all.
