WABS
It's like almost any kind of shooting. It depends on how good the shooter is. I've shot Foster type slugs out of a smoothbore shotgun for over 20 years both with a regular shotgun barrel as well as a smoothbore rifle sight barrel. I feel VERY comfortable with both hitting a deer's vital area from 50-75 yards. With the rifle sights barrel I can take it out past 100 yards without much problem depends on how much I practice. Key is you have to practice just like any other form of shooting, so be prepared to buy a few boxes (try different brands) to use at the range. I found that my Remington liked Remington slugs better than Federals. Good luck!
johnf
I shoot a Benelli Nova with a 28" barrel. Shooting winchester 2 3/4 riffled slugs I shoot about a 2" group at 75 yards. That's with a trueglo adjustable turkey sight.
