Sam16
I just dropped my bow off to get a new vapor trail string put on. I'm wondering if 70 bucks sounds reasonable since i know very little about the technical part of bowhunting. I asked the guy what other types they could order and the guy said they are all pretty comparable in price but not in performance, but i didnt really believe him. Just sounded fishy, but just curious more so for the fact that i want to know if i can trust my local archery shop. Thanks for any input. Guest Finn
That sounds like a reasonable price and I've heard alot of guys love Vapor Trails' stings. Good choice, you should be happy with them. What colors did you get?
Swamphunter
Sounds good to me...I think VT's are like 50 some bucks, then the labor. Sounds fair...
Sam16
OK fair enough then. I ended up going with black and royal blue. I was sort of put on the spot and figured that could look sorta cool. The shop owner was trying to convince me to go with electric green and hot pink. I was a little skeptical haha... We'll see how it looks in a few days.
Guest Finn
Sounds good....I'd agree with no pink and green what part of Il are you from? I lived in Naperville for 3 years, from 03-06.
Guest J-Daddy
My current Hoyt UltraTec has Vaportrail's on it...Good strings overall, and $70 installed isnt real bad on them...I've had them on a couple of bows and they held up good for me. Normally I get a local buddy of mine here in KY to build all my strings from 452x but when I picked this Hoyt up it had a brand new set of VT's on it so I havent bothered replacing them yet....I'm sure by Oct. it'll have a new set of Spider Twist strings on it, the one my buddy builds, and the VT strins will be saved as backups. The only thing I've ever noticed on VaporTrail strings is that the center serving isnt always the tightest...I've had a few to seperate under my d-loop knot before. Nothing real major, just keep your eye on it.
