Guest coydog316
I have worn Scent-Lok for several years now and even though I realize that it is totally impossible to eliminate all my scent, I have had good success wearing carbon clothing. Guest okla_bowhunter
I bought some scent-lok this summer, and am gonna use it this fall. This will be my first experience with it though.
MUDRUNNER
The only reason I wear it is because I won a Dream season suit last year from Drury.I'm not sure I would have bought one,but the prices are coming down a little. My problem is I go away 4 or 5 times a year for between 3 and 6 days and we don't have electricity so I can't re-activate.I've also heard arguments of wether or not a dryer actually gets hot enough to activate the carbon. In theory it sounds great, but who knows.I personally haven't seen much of a differance, and you still have to use sound scent control practices. LifeNRA
I don't own any! Cant see the money for them. I wash my clothes in Scent-A-Way Sports wash, use Scent-A-Way soap, shampoo, and deodorant. Once in the field, I spray down with Scent-A-Way field spray from top to bottom. I still see deer up close. JMO.
okiedog
I bought some just last month, so this year will be the 1st to wear it.
wtnhunt
This poll should maybe be broke down into two polls. Who currently owns any, and who has ever used it. Have always said I would not buy the stuff unless I got great deals, and just so happens after seasons ended I lucked up on some great deals. Got to love cabelas after season sales and the bargain cave. I do NOW own one set of scent lok lined goretex pants, a long sleeve scent lok shirt, and a face mask, but have not ever used the stuff in the past. Will be my first season to try it out this year. Really in all honesty dont see it making a significant difference with my scent control practices, but will give it a try for bow season anyways. Rhino
This poll should maybe be broke down into two polls. Who currently owns any, and who has ever used it. I agree. Over the years I've read some pretty negative comments about the suits from hunters that have never owned or used them. I've been using them for quite a few years now and from personal experience I'm convinced they drastically reduce your scent profile. I still go through my scent reduction prepartion routine that I used prior to using the suits because the suits are designed to reduce a large percentage of your scent profile. Like Mudrunner said though there are times when some of us can't reactivate our suits. I prefer not wearing mine for more than 2 full days without reactivating them. My only option on out of state hunts when I can't reactivate them is to take more suits so I have 4 complete suits and liners along with extra head nets and gloves. Motels, etc. are pretty bad about washing their linen, etc. in perfume type laundry detergents so I don't want to use their dryers and get that perfume junk cooked into the outside camo cloth of my suits. Any scent on the outside is not going to be absorbed by the charcoal that's on the inside.

I still go through all my regular scent control with bathing ect ect but I've been wearing scent lok for 4 or 5 years now. I'm not the kind of guy that believes in gimmicks, but these suits work. I hunt with a rifle & still wear it. Year after year I've had deer come from down wind of me within 15 yards during the warm months of Sept & early October & they had no clue I was around. Nothing will totally eliminate 100% of your scent but carbon clothes do in fact drastically reduce human odor.
8ptbuckpa
I wear Scentblocker I believe it does reduce your scent profile, for instance me and my dad where hunting in a hollow next to our house. He was set 30 yards of there natural trail. I was set up on the otherside 50 yards away from him in an area that we never got any pictures of deer crossing. It just so happened a herd of 5 deer(big in PA) came through they where heading to cross the creek right before my dad(normal trail) Then the lead deer I believe it was a doe lifted its head and looked around in the creek just casually turned and came my way bringing the heard towards me. the crossed the creek 40 yards down from me and came over solid concrete slabs to get to the bottom of the hollow I was watching. 4 of them came out and I saw one was a spike being My first bow kill I took the shothe ran off but all the other deer just stood there. I was wearing scentblocker I do believe it works by the way when I took the shot the dear were at 18 yards.

quackmaster4
I don't have any scent elimination clothing, I'm just anal about keeping myself as scent free as possible. My hat and clothes are kept sealed (until I wear them) in plastic with dirt, pine branches, deer crap, and wild garlic from the areas I hunt in. I shower and use scent free deodorant right before I hunt, and NEVER stop for gas on the way hunting. I also spray myself with Scent shield when I get to my spot, and have containers with deer scent surrounding me on stand. I only use estrus scent during the rut, and maybe a little later. It seems to work for me.
wildside
I've fashioned a nice hosta and clover suit for myself which has the deer practically eating out of my hand. Honestly, I have never tried the scent-elimination clothing but am not against trying it out. Reading the posts about what others have found successful in reducing scent has given me some ideas for this fall in the woods. True, price is a factor, and if I'm able to harvest a nice deer without the added expense of special clothing, I'll most likely keep hunting as I have, scent-exposed and all. Jeramie
The only scent blocking item I wear is my rubber boots. Other than that its normal cammo. I wash it in scent free soap and then leave it in a large ziplock with leaves and real earth spray for the duration of the season. Seems to work ok. Im sure the scent lok stuff helps but wow, the price!
Guest Mdbowhunter16
I don't own any now but I will be looking into some scent blocker in the future.

I've done the same thing and have had deer right under me an within 10 yards of me sitting on the ground. That was with lots of fresh earth spray and tinks 69. I bought some scent-lok this summer, and am gonna use it this fall. This will be my first experience with it though. Got a dream season suit, hat and gloves early this spring for a song at Gander mt. Only thing I'm going to do different is wear the suit and drop the fresh earth scent.
BigCheeky
I currently don't own any scent elimination clothing. If I acquired some I'm sure I would wear it and give it a chance.
NYBowhunter71
I just got scent-lok for this year. I also have and have used silver lined garments which is supposed to inhibit bacteria growth that causes human scent. Not sure if I am convinced it works. Tom2008
I just bought a Scent-Lok Full season Pants and Jacket and I bought a face mask/hat and gloves. My buddy swears by this stuff so I thought I would give it a try.
M00N
I just a few months back got myself the ScentBlocker Road Trips XLT suit for archery season. Figured it couldn't hurt to have some sort of scent elimination suit. Plus, I really love the Realtree AP on it and clothing design. I only plan to really wear it while archery hunting. In rifle I don't really pay as much attention to wearing scent elimination clothing, because hunting pressure is really high in the area I hunt.
