Turkeygirl
I can't wait until the squirrel season opener on Sept. 1! I have school starting august 27 so that will make the week go by fast. I love to be out there on autumn mornings, waiting to hear the squirrels running through the trees. Anyone else looking forward to tree rat season? I even have a goal I really want to shoot a black squirrel and mount it myself I think they look really good mounted on a vertical log. Tominator
Not a bushytail hunter anymore, but I sure am looking forward to dove season. I check the bean/sunflower/foxtail food plot on a daily basis!
Bachflock
Sept. 15th here and I can't wait. I've got my two youngest geeked up about going out with me. It'll be their first year... I may even be more excited then they!
Jeramie
Our season has been open since May. It runs from May 15th to January 31st. I typically wont hunt until it cools off and kills the tics on the squirrels. Right now they can and typically are pretty nasty. Once we get a good frost ill be out there with bells on! Guest beagleman
Talk about a gift from I guess our good friends at the DNR. Indiana season opens 2 days before my b-day. Can't wait debating on turning in a vacation request on my b-day and giving myself the gift of potentialy fresh game in the freezer.

Turkeygirl
Yeah, only thing with early season squirrels is until we get a good frost, they have the warbles or larva under their skin which is really gross.

I've not seen that before. I'm curious, something common in NY?
