iabow
Last Friday I took a shot at a doe about 30 yds away. To my surprise it went a foot over her back, looked for my arrow to no avil for darkness. Most the night I tried to figure out what I did wrong. So the next morning went out to find my arrow, well I was shocked at what I found, only the back 8" of the arrow . The nock was nowhere to be seen and the broken end had splinntered and come unwraped. That spooked me cause it didn't hit anything and I found it about 20 yds from the tree. I'm not over bowed by any means, and the arrow was not cracked, I check that. The only thing I could think of was the cold, single digit temps w/ -20 windchill. I like the arrow, but the durability I don't like, think I'll be shooting something else next year. Just don't get it.

Chrud
Re: Axis problem Before hunting season, the Axis arrows were highly praised. Once hunting season rolled around, I've heard a lot more negative things about them than good. One thing I came to realize is that the "advantage" of the small diameter is no advantage at all. With fieldpoints on a target, yes. The ONLY broadhead that has the same diameter base is the NAP Crossfire. Once the broadhead cuts, the "advantage" is canceled by a hold larger than the shaft and the blood, with both offer nothing for it to resist against. Also heard of bad nocks, breaking after shooting game and real inconsistant spinners.

hoyt19
Re: Axis problem you could have ended up like the guy in the post from a few weeks ago that had most part of a CX arrow stuck in his hand. Luckly your hand and the deer werent wounded.
Tony
Re: Axis problem i feel that the Axis arrows were over hyped.. Easton makes a great product but there 2 new carbon arrows last year the Fat Boy and the Axis werent very good at all... if im going to spend that kind of money on a carbon arrow at least im going to make sure that it has a straightness tolerance of .001 ! heck my hunting arrows are .001 ... i shoot Easton 3-28 Accs and 2613s for target and i couldnt be more pleased... but for my money im shooting Goldtip Pro series for hunting . Guest antlers21
Re: Axis problem I had a lot of flyers with the dozen I had and sold them to a buddy who thought they were the greatest thing. I will stick with my vapors.
iabow
Re: Axis problem I went in to the bowshop to GTs but the "bow expert" talked me into the axis, I gave in to all the hype. I won't make this mistake again, and GTs or Vapors will be in my quiver next year. I'm thankful that I don't have pictures like that other guy to show you, that's a spooky. Leo
Re: Axis problem If the arrow just glances the side of a tree, it will pop in two the way you describe. You will likely not find the business end stuck in anything. Often the arrow halves end up laying on top of the leaves. Aluminum or carbon I don't care I have seen it with both. Though I do believe the penetration claims of the Axis arrows is a bunch of marketing hype. I don't think what you have experienced is a problem per se. Just the result of a missed shot and a downrange tree IMO. You would not hear the glancing strike as a normal impact.
iabow
Re: Axis problem The only thing of it was she was in a clear shooting lane, with no trees or branches to hit esp. the first 25 yds. Thanks for the imput though.

muggs
Re: Axis problem personally there much to expensive, my carbon express do the job, and there about half price compared to the axis.
Guest 2500HD
Re: Axis problem The Axis arrows are the best arrows i have used from my set up. This includes ACC which were a total waste of $$$ for me, Delta Graphites which were not bad, Beman ICS 400 that flew like wet noodles and Carbon Express. I liked my Carbon Express too but sold them with another bow. I have had zero complaints about the Axis arrows.
