a very good bow thats very fast and can be very accurate. but this bow is for very experienced shooters. it can be a little difficult to shoot. it is also comes in a specific draw length with the Spiral cams on it.. so it has to be dead nuts on your draw length.

does it have the Spiral cams or the cam and a half on it?

what werethe other Hoyt choices.

the Turbo tec will be a good shooter for sure, but i think its just a tad more critical to shoot that any other Hoyt bow.;)

Yeah Tony is right on the TurboTec, it's not for everyone...They are smokin fast bows but they are touchy to shoot. Speed bows can be hard to tame sometimes, they really show any shooting form flaws and torque issues you have. Plus if your buying it for a hunting bow the Spiral Cams "if it does have Spirals, I think all the Turbo's I've seen did" aint my pick for a hunting cam...They are great cams for target shooting but the hard draw, lack of a valley and low letoff % can cause you problems in a tree stand on a cold morning or if you get all twisted up when trying to shoot at a weird angle ... If you creep any with spiral cams it's going to go no matter if you want it to or not. To me the regular Cam & 1/2 is a better choice.

I LOVE Hoyt bows, and if you want a Hoyt do yourself a favor and try to find an UltraTec to shoot before you buy anything else...I'm sure Tony will agree with me on that.

I have no trouble hunting with the Turbotec and spirals at 74 lbs....I have shot higher poundage bows in my younger years so I guess the spirals don't bother me lol...the Turbotec is not for everyone but I think it's shootable for hunting and not that hard to tame..I guess it's what ever you like in a hunting bow..I like the hard hitting speed of the Turbotec.

Thanks everyone. I also shot a Trykon, and Trykon XL, but i liked the turbotec. The letoff did not seem to be a problem. I held it back for 30 seconds one time to make sure. I dont think i'll have a problem "taming" it, but maybe i should shoot an Ultratec just to make sure?

Oh dont take it like I was badmouthing the Turbo cause I wasnt..I'm just saying it isnt for everyone. Keep one thing inmind, drawing and holding a bow back for 30sec. in the store is alot different than being 20' up a tree in 30degree weather with a big FreakNasty 20yds away...Heck I tell everybody to shoot Hoyt bows, I have faith in them..But if you havent shot alot & your form aint great the TurboTec might not be the best overall fit for you if your looking for a good hunting rig...

As far as the Trykon & TrykonXL go, I owned a TrykonXL for awhile...You couldnt give me 3 of them for my UltraTec...Alot of little things on the Trykon bows I didnt like...That's the reason the Hoyt Vectrix & VectrixXL are the best selling Hoyt's in 2007...They got the kinks worked out of the '07 models.
