LifeNRA
The wife made some deer ribs today! She actually started out by making them in the slow cooker, then grilling them. She used a rub that we got off the Food Network. Seasonings: 3 tablespoons kosher salt 2 tablespoons fresh ground black pepper 3 tablespoons sugar 2 tablespoons garlic powder 2 tablespoons onion powder 2 tablespoons seasoning salt Enough water to keep moist! DON'T ADD THE ENTIRE SEASONS TO THE WATER! JUST ENOUGH TO FLAVOR! YOU WILL HAVE PLENTY OF THIS SEASONING!!! She had them in the slow cooker for about 4-6 hours. Afterwords she had placed them on the grill to give them that grill flavor. When they had that great dark grilled look, finish them off with your favorite BBQ sauce! Guest Andrea
Always wanted to try this. But my husband never keeps them cause he says there just isn't enough meat on them. ( Maybe it's just these puny Florida deer lol)
LifeNRA
Tell ya Andrea, they were so tender! Being in the slow cooker, and grilling them was the best thing to do with these ribs! Yes, there is not much meat on them. But do most ribs have a lot of meat, I don't think so! Now I am sure there are other seasonings you can use in the slow cooker. This was a start. Hey my daughter went nuts over them too!

OJR
There isn't enough meat on the ribs here to keep them. The same here! Not worth the effort for what you get out of them!
LifeNRA
The same here! Not worth the effort for what you get out of them! Yes I know! But we also had the fish tails and some tender loins! Doesnt matter, they were still pretty darn good! Besides, I didn't cut them out, the butcher did! LOL!!!
