Some of you guys may remember, but last year i wounded a buck mid October and thought that maybe he would live. However i found him two months later while doing a drive. I didnt know how to post pics then but i do now, so here he is:

If you've ever bow hunted, you've more than likely had a deer get away from you. For me, it was one of those that made me question if i should even be doing it. Then finding this made it even worse. I put in 12 hours of looking for that deer that night and the next morning, only to find him two months later in a ditch running down the middle of a pasture adjacent to the block of woods i was hunting. He wasnt 200 yards from my pine tree, but it was the last place i would've guessed, and last blood showed him running away from there.

I guess it's just one of those things that happen. BTW this was the only buck i pulled the trigger on last year.

Thats cool you found him, but it would have been nicer if you found him right after the shot. thats a good looking deer also. Its happend to me also, shot a 4-pointer with my bow and followed the blood trail for over 400 yards but the trail faded off and he went into private property.

I know how u feel man same thing happened to me last year but never found him so i still have a glimmer of hope he made it. We trailed him with fairly good blood for over 200 yards and it just stoped. We went throug the thinkest stuff we could find and all the ditches and streams for 2 days looked foe buzzereds to clue us in but notting its hard but it happens to the best.Good luck this year

That's rough, and it seems as though many can relate. Here's a few photos of my first buck. . . .needless to say, we didn't find him until months later, as well. I remember feeling ill about it and losing sleep for a while. Being ethical hunters, I think we all want to make an accurate shot paired with a relatively quick track of the kill, but that's not always the way it goes, unfortunately.
