wvbowhunter
Do any of you use Gorilla stands? If you do how do you rate the Gorilla King Kong fixed position stand? I like the price and they have a good size platform plus 300 lb capacity......whats your thoughts on this stand...before I place an order I would like to have reviews from hunters that use the stands, thanks in advance. punkinslinger
My first trip to Illinois a couple years back found me climbing into fixed stands for the first time in my life and I was a bit leary. Most of the stands were the same you are questioning and I found them quite comfortable and stable during my dawn to dusk all day sits. Bob LeBlanc
I use the King Kong, and am extremely impressed at how stable it is. Mine is the chain on version, versus the strap, and it goes up reasonably quickly...but just remember to 'ratchet' it down before you stand on it. If it has a down-side, you need a respectable diameter tree to mount it on...which is probably not a bad thing, for safety reasons. Bob;)
WVreddot870
I love the stand---not wild about the strap. I always use 2 straps for my own safety. I have a lot of stands and this one is always the 1st one I grab.
hoss
I love the stand---not wild about the strap. I always use 2 straps for my own safety. I have a lot of stands and this one is always the 1st one I grab. i always use at least one sometimes two extra ratchet straps. just for my own pice of mind. im a big boy at 260 lbs and dont like the feeling of sliping on the tree not even an inch. over all i love my stands i have 3 king kongs
Bownarow
I have a king kong and a kong and love them both. I really have zero complaints with how they work. The single strap is great for quick setup and I have never had it slip even an little bit. You always hear good things about the LoneWolf stands but I don't have any experience with them. I plan on buying at least one more KingKong before the upcomming season.

Guest AReed
I love these stands. They are very easy to use. THey help keep you sat up in a good ready position. The seatbelt like strap make it easy to hang. Great stands!!!
Michihunter
Very sturdy and quiet. Only drawback to me is the weight!! Them suckers are heavy!!

BearClaw
I bought a Kong for this year and I'm looking forward to hanging it. I use a mini-ladder and the side of the tree that is perfect for the ladder is the opposite side to attach the strap. I bought a two-sided strap and replaced the one on the stand. (Original replacement from Gorilla and available at Wal-Mart for around $7.00. I bought mine at Bass Pro for $17 plus shipping. Go figure. Anyways, now I can use either side. One of the welds came loose on the first one I bought and it made noise when I stood up. I called the company and they sent a replacement. Nice to deal with too. IowaDeerHunter
We own a gorilla King kong XL and it is pretty nice. I just thought I would throw this in though. At our local scheels they sell Remington 30-06 treestands for 49.99. They are unbeatable ecspecially at that price. They even have a footrest. The best part is, is that our scheel had them on sale for 39.99, I just do not think there is any stand out there that can beat it at that price.
