Guest Zone Team
I am thinking of setting up a Texas free range axis hunt. I found an outfitter that has Axis and there are no high fences. Anyone have any advice and secrets to the Axis hunting. Thanks,
Texan_Til_I_Die
Yeah, shoot as many of the darn things as you can. They're really bad about running the whitetails off! Seriously, they're almost, but not quite, like a whitetail as far the acuteness of their senses and being wild (unless they've been heavily fed, then they calm down). A lot of places do spot and stalk. You'll ride around in a jeep or truck until you see one off in the distance, then take off after him on foot. Just use the same stalking stills you would use on a whitetail or mule deer. Watch the wind and move in slowly.
