hutchies
As most of you know the broadhead laws in Oklahoma are frivilous. The law states that the broadhead has to be 1.5 inches from the seat to the tip. This rules out many broadheads most of which are very popular...........Slicktricks, G5 Strikers, Wac'ems, and many many more heads that are more than worthy of using. The laws need to be changed. They are only going to be changed by phone calls and emails. They think nobody cares about this law. Lets fill their ears and mailboxes full. Contact them all today. Contact the Oklahoma Bowhunting Council and the ODWC.........Lets see if we can't get thousands of emails in these peoples inbox to get this changed. Squirrelhunter91
Bryan.. I saw this thread on AT where you guys were discussing this.. Saw you and Jason replied to it.. I know last year that Jason was asking for pics of animals that were killed by those low profile heads. I have two diff groundhogs that were shot with Slick Tricks that I can send you pics of. No big game kills with them yet though.
hutchies
He had alot of info actually. Biggest problem was he couldn't get the broadhead companies to help him out. I know Magnus stepped up...........but Muzzy, NAP.......and a bunch of others should have jumped in. They all have heads that are illegal under these laws. Gator
The Bowhunting council is the group that needs to be convinced more than anything. If we can convince them, they are the ones with the pull to convince the ODWC. But convincing them is gonna be a BEAR, they are on that 3:1 ratio train of thought
hutchies
One thing I don't think was thought about and it just hit me is an online petition. I'm sure we could get thousands of people that hunt in OK to sign it.
maddhunter
Something else to think about, A paper petition at the up comeing Wildlife Expo. I'm sure there will be some BIG BOYS to talk to there too.
Guest Zone Team
I'll see what I can do to help. I wasn't aware of the law and I know a lot of hunters who use the G5 striker in OK. Interesting. Keep the thread alive and I'll get back to you guys.
CDubWSR
Mrs. Chapman frequents the store that I work at very often and I have spoken to her about this before. I told her how Jason was trying for a while to get the ball rolling on this thing but wasnt given any help by the members of the bowhunting council that he talked to. She gave me her email and told me that if we could get together some information and maybe a petition and a statement as to why we want the law changed... she would be more than happy to make sure that it is reviewed by the council. So she would be a very good person to voice your opinions too and why. Colin
Gator
Colin, thanks for that info. I will see what I can get together, I still have all the info that I gathered last year, and may be able to gather some more. Now we need to get a petition together and get it signed. hutchies
Gator, I bet Bowtech, the guy that does broadhead tests on Archers Edge, could make us up a good letter pertaining to the difference of longer and shorter heads. Plus he already has pics of testing them.
