I laughed my butt off when he approched those "wild" horses in that episode. You can also see him wearing a life jacket under his shirt whenever he is in water.

I watched his "alone" on the island one(once)...you could see like six people in the reflection of the water where he was "trying to catch food".......Im thinking its quite a bit of staging.....and he has alot of help.............al

My wife and I have watched this show a couple times, always kind of thought the guy was never in any serious danger. The camera crew had to be a couple guys, not like he is all by himself. Still some of the show is interesting and does give some good tips.

I think a lot of the show is set up for shock value, but I agree he does give some useful tips.

At the begining of each episode he says that there is a camera crew that follows him, so I kinda figured that.

I'm still not completly sold on the fact that survivorman is alone either. I can't imagine setting up camera's and walking out of sight just to have to turn around and come back and get them. I also read on one of his blogs when he was in Africa that his safety crew was 75yds away with rifles in case he ran into trouble.

I admit I enjoy both shows though.

Ya, that's pushin it just alittle. I think there could have been some other choices (vegetation). But there are some helpful stuff on these shows. I watched acouple to brush up (Eagle Scout days) and prepare for a elk hunt last year. Never hurts to keep a little exrta knowledge on these things just in case !!

Ditto on that....even my boys like that one better.;)

But you can still learn a few things with the other one.

he's always been cooler, i hate it when bear grills always says he was in the SPECIAL forces, i know what kind of SPECIAL he means now

The Survivorman series is by far better than Man vs. Wild! The host on Survivorman, Les Stroud, goes out there all alone for a week with no water, food, shelter, or tools, just his pocket knife and his harmonica, which he is really good at. Great show!
