Guest mud2water
i put a weaver base and rings with a luepold scope on it and when sighting in it was shooting low, and have adjusted the scope to the max adjustment and i'm still about 4 inches low at 100 yds. Anybody have any suggestions on how I can get this dead on or I would like to get it about 2 inches high at 100. Thanks

Blayze
my uncle had the same problem with his luepold on his encore we used lighter bullets more powder but couldent get it up. he took it to a shop and they said put a couple pieces of tape in the bottoms of the scope rings and it would raise it up. I told him to put a nikon on it a forget about it. mine with a nikon has lots of adjustment left in it.
str8shooter48
I've seen this happen last fall at the rifle range. Same setup an Encore with Weaver base and ring topped with a Leupold VXII. I have 2 Bushnells and a Sightron on my Encore barrels. No problems> It must be a Leupold thing.
EKYhunter
What loads are you shooting? This could be the problem. You may have a bad scope, it happens. You might have a bad set of mounts. If you're sure the scope is good, try getting a set of mounts that are adjustable for elevation. You might also try shooting from a shorter distance, say 25 yards and see what happens. Also, as I said earlier the load could be the culprit so try decreasing the powder charge if you're shooting 150 grains and maybe increasing if your below that. Also, try different bullets/sabots. Have you tried shooting it with open sights and checking POI? Keep us posted and let us know what you figure out.
Guest mud2water
Thanks for the replys, I got it fixed, I did a little more research on the net and found several different articles on shimming scopes. Some used coke can material and various other things. I used aluminum foil, about four pieces and shaped them to fit my rings and it worked perfectly. Like I said earlier my scope was maxed out on adjustment before, but after I actually had to adjust back quite a bit. I too have most of my guns with nikons and the do have a lot more adjustment range with them than this luepold does, I like the nikons well but I just wanted to try something different.
