Bachflock
I talked with the property owner of where I'll be hunting this fall. He gave me a diagram of his land. I'm pretty tickled to find out he has soybeans, corn, and hay where I'm hunting. The harvest, however, will fall during the season. How will this affect the birds? Push them out or bring them in even more? There is a hardwood area between a soybean and hay field then another, larger, hardwood area boarded by all three. It has a trail that borders almost the entire stand of wood. I'm pretty excited!
toddyboman
Usually always see turkeys in picked corn and bean fields. So after those are harvested they will probably be out in them.

Guest HoppeMan
birds here live through it , has no effect on them. Yeah, same here. They grow up with it, they live with it. When they come harvesting, the birds will obviously flush. But they'll come right back. Take care, Nathan

Strut10
No worry. In farming community, a combine/cornpicker (and a manure spreader, too, in the winter) is actually just about like a turkey call. I won't say the birds will be in the field before the machine leaves. But they'll be there soon. Farm equipment is a way of life for wild critters. I know I can get a LOT closer to a deer or turkey on a tractor (even with loud attachments running) than I can in a vehicle.
