OJR
The early cow elk season opened here today! They have this season to try and help the farmers out by shooting some problem elk that come in and feed on the crops! I think the season is about 1 month long and is for rifles only! This is a hunt that is during some real hot weather! It is supposed to over 100 tomorrow! I am staying home in AC! LOL!

It seems the calves do OK even if the cow is done in! They are pretty big by this time of the year! Of course, you always have some late calves and they wouldn't make it! silvertip_co
Colo has a summer elk season too in unit 82 I think. That make like 6 elk seasons for the state. Sad thing is the good seasons are only 8-9 days long. The summer season lasts a month as I recall.
