Swamphunter
I just heard from Bdboy53 and he is in! Looks like we are coming Jim. Barring any family illness or injury, we would like to come. I can bring targets (block and 3d deer), or whatever. I am working nights the 3rd and 4th so it may be the evening of the 4th when I arrive. I can hunt the 5th and 6th and will probably head home that night as BDboy has prior engagement on the 7th. Cool?? Ken
NYBUCK
Swampy, that is great. I can't wait. We have about 15 targets but if you want to bring some that is up to you.

NYBUCK
Joe, We don't mind your snoring. It won't be the same with out you. You should come. Jim, I am going to pass this year. Now you can sleep in each morning.
RangerClay
Joe, We don't mind your snoring. It won't be the same with out you. You should come. I didn't think I snored that bad. But that's not what I meant. If you remember, Art and I were the only one's who got up to hunt in the morning while everyone else slept off their hangovers. Everytime I wanted a little water to clean up and brush my teeth that blasted water pump would wake up the entire camp.

NYBUCK
Dan, NY911Bowhunter came up with a great idea.... NY911Bowhunter (8/23/2007)Ok…I have been in contact with Jenny Posten, aka StabMansWife about the Smackdown T-shirts. Here is the INITIAL estimate……these prices are subject to change once we get a final tally. I got prices for short sleeve and long sleeve, and I think it is easier to sell these as a package deal; one of each per order. The shirts will be black with white lettering front and back, with a Dream Season type theme. I can leave off the Realtree and Mossy Oak if there is a problem, but since no one is making a profit off of these, I hope it will be OK…No big deal either way. I need to get Jenny a number of how many we will need but there is plenty of time to get them before the smackdown. So.....right now, the adult/youth S – XL will be $25 for BOTH a short and a long sleeve shirt. 2XL – 5XL will be $30 for BOTH shirts. For that price, I will deliver them to the guys at the Smackdown to hand out. At this point the shirts will only be available to Smackdown attendees, but this may change……. Jim – can you post this over at Realtree – I have a heck of a time getting on there. I will check in there and keep tabs up. You can also list my email address so they can contact me. The attached images are a ROUGH draft. Jenny will clean them up. REMEMBER – FOR THE $25 OR $30 YOU WILL GET TWO SHIRTS! One long sleeve, one short sleeve. Squirrelhunter91
I'd love to make it up there, but I doubt my dad would be willing to drive that far. Looks like a 3 hour ride for me. Who wants to pick me up?
Swamphunter
2 coming Looks like Bdboy and myself are on Jim. Let me know about the shirts. I wear a Large in both if you guys decide to get them. If for some reason something comes up, I'll pay for the shipping also. I would hope that RT would allow us to add the logo..would be sweet. NYBUCK
The week-end was a blast a usual. The only problem was the weather. It was more like August than October. I think everyone that hunted saw deer except (Art, Bucknrut). The attendees were ..... NYbuck - Jim Ny911Bowhunter - Dan Hilltophunter - Virg CrazyCliff - Cliff BucknRut - Art Blazin 270 - Al Wayne - my brother-n-law Bill - a guy that works with me Too bad more people couldn't have made it. People that have never been really miss a good time. It was a little downer not having Wayne (Nosdog) there. He has been a great addition to the group and hopefully with a speedy recovery he will be back again next year. Thursday I left work and ran some errands and stopped and put up our new custom made sign When I pulled in, Dan was already there enjoying the rays as the temps were probably in the mid 70's. I than hung another welcoming sign on the camp... Dan and I walked down to check the trail camera and jumped a deer in the food plot about 3:30. Shortly after he got ready and I took him to the spot I wanted him to hunt. I waited around and around 6 pm Virg and Cliff showed up. They quickly got ready and I took them to there spots for a quick evening hunt. Later that night we went to the Lodge for a quick dinner. After that it was back to camp for a couple pops and some stories. Friday morning we were up at 5:30 am and after coffee we were out the door. Here are a few pics from the spot I hunted a few times ..... And of course me.... We were back to camp around 9 and Dan cooked us a nice breakfast as he did on Saturday morning as well ... After breakfast we took down a stand and I went and showed the boys another spot that I had prepared last week. e then came back to camp and Virg and Dan went and sat in the double bull for a few hours, from 11:30 to 2:30. The trail cam showed some activity during that time. Cliff and I ran to town to pick up sme stuff that I forgot. That evening we all hunted and when everyone got back blazin showed up with some shiskabobs and I cooked some venison steaks for sandwiches. Dan built a nice little fire .... We hung out and shared more stories and had some good laughs... ] Guess who .... At about 8:30 Art showed up and we hung by the fire for a while before bed. More to come ........... NYBUCK
Saturday we hunted until about 9 am and came back and had breakfast again. Virg and Cliff had to leave early so they missed the 3-D shoot. Before they left, my brother-n-law and Bill showed up. It was about 80 degrees when we shot and it was brutal. Here are some pics from the shoot.... Dan Bill Art, I think he was cold .... Dan again Because of the heat we cut the shoot short, the last 5 each guy picked a target and where they wanted to shoot from. This is what I chose ..... The target.... The shot .... Art Dan Wayne The results ... Shortly after Dan also had to depart. It is too bad because he was the winner of the 3-D shoot knocking Wayne off from 2 year defending champ. Had he stayed he would have got dinner bought for him and a couple other surprises..... One, we all had chicken-cordon-bleu. Because they were out of it on Thursday when Dan wanted it they gave it to us at half price plus they gave us free drinks all night because they felt bad and plus because we have been coming for 4 years in a row. Too bad you missed it Dan...:P:P After dinner it was time for a small photo shoot...... My camera died so Blazin will have to post more, But we did have a guest apperance for a young lady who came in all the way from Boston for the smackdown dinner. She was hoping Dan would be there but he missed out. Thanks to Bill who decide he wanted to buy us all dinner. Still more to come .............. NYBUCK
After dinner we headed back to camp for another little fire...... and more stories and more laughs ..... Blazin hanging out ... Before he got tired ....:P:P Then Art got tired..... Then Wayne The camp mascot was retired ...... All in all it was great week-end. The weather really dut a damper on the hunting but not for a lack of trying. It seems that it gets smaller every year but seriously, people don't know what they are missing. Everyone gets along so well and a good time is had evreytime. I hope we can get a few more there next year. We missed Pscho this year and of course Nosdog. I am looking forward to seeing the rest of the pics. THE END
