too_pointer
For the first time in 4-5 years, I have some toys coming. A new custom built stock for my .17hmr. and a new scope for my Rem. 597 .22. Ya, staying low right now, but it sure is fun shooting the rimfires, and alot cheaper also. The 597 is a semi-auto, so that might be a worry when the dem's take over. The stock is from Sharp Shooter Supply, and the scope is a Mueller APV 4.5-14x40. I can shoot a ton of ammo for the guns compared to centerfires. too_
007hunter
Nice!! How do you like your Rem. 597? Any problems with jamming?
too_pointer
Hi. I did have a small jamming problem when I first had it. I was trying Remington ammo, and besides the rem. jamming, the accuracy was horrible. I switched to CCI ammo, and I get super accuracy and no more jamming. There are several rimfire sites that I hang in, and there is a ton of advice that helps out. I did buy an after market hammer to improve the trigger pull down to 2 1/2 lbs. The 597 is known for out of box accuracy
007hunter
Just curious. Mine jammed like crazy for the 1st 300 shots or so but now it does it every 100 or so if that. Where did you get this aftermarket hammer?
too_pointer
This is where is ordered it, it is very easy to install and pretty cheap, definetly improves the trigger. http://www.rimfiresports.com/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=RSC&Category_Code=REM597 too_
