Getting back into it

I haven't hunted with a bow for about 7 or 8 years. I've been considering it, and got a real good deal on a bow this week. I got a Golden Eagle bow with everything on it, hard case, two dozen good aluminum arrows, extra sights, tips, etc. for $80. I'll have to take it and get it adjusted for me and then I'll be ready to shoot. I'm more than likely going to get a dozen carbon arrows. Any recommendations on broadheads? The last ones I bought were Muzzy fixed blades, and I was thinking of going with mechanicals, but aren't that caught up on what has a good rep and what doesn't. Opinions?

Congrats. Sounds like you got a good deal. I have a Golden Eagle Evolution just waiting for one of my sons to grow into it.

If I were to ever get mechanicals again, I'd probably go with rages. Looks like a slick design.

Welcome back...I shot alot of deer with my Golden Eagle Hawk

I shoot Muzzy 100 grain 3 blades...they are about 1/2 the price of Mechanicals and have worked well for many years.

Not sure about mechanicals, I'm sure other guys can give good recommendations.

I shoot the Muzzy 100 grain 3 blades too and just love 'em, but for mechanical I would recommend the G5 Tekan.

Welcome Back! I would stick to muzzy's I'll have a quiver full of the MX-3's this year they are a great broadhead and relatively inexpensive & I have yet to hear someone complain about them. Good luck this year hope you stick a big one.
