VermontHunter
Just would like to hear what you folks think of this one .... Should NASCAR add a Montreal road race at Circuit Gilles Villenueve to the Nextel Cup schedule? I for one would like to see a regular race ran in Montreal. This venue has a great tradition for great racing...:)
texastrophies
Why not, it would be a great opportunity for nascar to make some more money. As long as the money is guaranteed for nascar, I imagine they will do it. They could take away one of the races where they don't make as much money and replace it with this one where they will make more money. Do you understand what I am really saying? VermontHunter
Do you understand what I am really saying? LOL... I think I do .. Let's see if I do .. here's and example Take away the smaller track ( $ wise ) such as New Hampshire and add the Montreal race .. Is this what you had in mind ?? IowaDeerHunter
I doubt Nascar really cares what the fans think, money talks, especially to them.
VermontHunter
I doubt Nascar really cares what the fans think, money talks, especially to them. I'm not delusional about the fact that NASCAR not unlike any other business and think entirely about the $$$$ signs... But in this case the fans are the $$$$ signs,, The question is "what do you think of adding the Montreal Venue to the schedule ?? " Is this a race you would be interested in watching or going to ?? This info NASCAR would be very interested in because this is where the dollars would be spent .. As I have already stated I like the idea of the Montreal Venue ,,, I like it far better than the Mexico deal ..

Chrud
NASCRAP could/will get rid of Darlington for it. Afterall, how many stock car races has Montreal had so far? Zero? Support your local dirt track!

Ravin R10 man
The ONLY way it would work,.....was if the hockey team were sponsoring one of the cars!!
Chrud
If they could repeat today's Busch race, I'd be all for it! That Robby Gordon, what a piece of work. It seemed like he hit Ambros during that last big wreck to get around him. Ambrose hit him back and Robby is mad about it. NASCAR really costed Ambrose that race. They told Robby to go back to 12th and he didn't. They should have never restarted the race if the cars weren't lined up right. They knew darn well he was going to wreck Ambrose (the leader at the time).
Bowhntr
NO! NO! NO! We have GREAT race venues here that are being closed, new tracke being built that can't get dates and they want to hold ANOTHER race out of the country. No, I don't think they should have a race in Montreal, at least not unitl Rockingham and North Wilkesboro are open again and places like Kentucky, Nashville, and Iowa have Cup dates. I'm sure most of here agree with the venues that you have just mentioned.... I for one miss the ROCK ,,, but unfortunately like we have discussed also this is about the MONEY and you already know what NASCAR thinks about the green stuff... I think Montreal would be a great opportunity for some North and South people relations as well .. and this venue is known for holding some awsome high speed road course races.... Chrud
at least not unitl Rockingham and North Wilkesboro are open again and places like Kentucky, Nashville, and Iowa have Cup dates. I highly doubt you'll ever see a Cup race at Kentucky, Nashville or Iowa. They are way too small of markets to get Cup races. They would have had to been added to the schedule 15+ years ago to ever have a chance of being a Cup track. I wouldn't mind seeing Iowa added. Kentucky is a cookie-cutter and shouldn't be added. There are already three flat 1.5 mile tracks. Nashville is too one-groove. Rockingham was probably one of my favorite races to watch. Good side-by-side racing, multiple grooves and fast. I still don't think there should be oval racing on anything over 1 mile. Did anyone else watch the Busch race yesterday?
VABuckSlayer
I don't think we need another road course race. I'm not a real big fan of road course racing. I'd like to see a Cup date go to the new Iowa track before we go out of the country again. Not to mention... if we want to keep going out of country (Mexico, Canada, ect.) with the road courses it might as well be an F1 series. If NASCAR wants to run all these road courses in other countries they should just start another division. Just get another big sponsor (like McDonalds or something) and have the McDonald's Cup. Then they could just run road courses all over the world. Eric
