wtnhunt
There is a tunnel with a slide on the bank opposite side of the camera on around to the right, cannot see the tunnel in these pics. Was hoping to see what was using the tunnel, especially after hearing that there were some small gators found just last week in a lake near Memphis. Did get a few decent pics. Tominator
Don't know that gators tunnel William. My guess would be a muskrat.
wtnhunt
Don't know that gators tunnel William. My guess would be a muskrat. Yep, think maybe they do Chris. We saw a show on Discovery where the guy went in a tunnel looking and said it was a gator tunnel. I kind of figure the tunnels are more likely from beavers, but set the camera up with hopes of seeing something different. Here you go Chris, copied this from a fact sheet page from the Smithsonian site In areas where the water level fluctuates, alligators dig themselves into hollows in the mud, which fill with water. These tunnels are often as long as 65 feet (20 m) and provide protection during extreme hot or cold weather. Many other animals also use these burrows after they are abandoned by their creators.
