8ptbuckpa
A couple guys from other forums say that these buck are far from P&Y but I think they are what do you think? the one is for sure. also take a guess at there score thanks. the one showing full body also the one in the back
Hoyt03
The one bigger 8 may come close but being an 8 they have to be pretty darn wide and have very few deductions to make P&Y. I have a buddy who got a 8pt P&Y in PA two years ago that just barely made it and was a huge 8pt with less then 2pt deductions. Either way they are great deer for Dauphin county PA
8ptbuckpa
P &Y is 125 right? the buck in my avatar I shot in rifle but it scored 136 1/8 net and 138 gross and I think the others are close just the G1'S arent 7 3/4 inches If I get a shot though they are gonna feel a sting:D these are all 3 year old or older deer according to James Kroll
RUTNSTRUT
It's close for the bigger one but I don't think he will make it. But they are nice bucks and if either one makes YOU happy then come season if you get a shot go for it. Other wise think what they would look like in another year,if that's your thing. toddyboman
The bigger 8 point is a nice buck, but I dont see either or those bucks going p&y. Nice bucks yes but not p&y. They always look bigger in velvet.
Tominator
I shot this deer in 2005, and Ohiobucks and I scored him right around 119-120, so I think your bucks are pretty close. It's kind of tough for an 8pt to make it. He has to have mass, long mains and decent G measurements.
bigbuck145
My dad shot an eight with his bow that scored "136" P&Y the buck had 12 inch G 2's 9 inch G 3's 18 inch spread 22 1/2 main beams mass was average. IMO the bigger eight might have a chance.
bowtech31
I always go by the policy if I have shot one that is bigger than the one standing in front of my bow then it walks. That is unless it is very unique. That is just my policy for management on our lease. We have a lot of guys around here doing that and our deer seem to be getting bigger and bigger. I posted a pic of a 10 pointer on here and that pic was taken in an area were there are several bowhunters and thank god they are very picky. If we need meat we just wack a couple of does. Just my two cents. But to answer your question the big one is close but witout the velvet he probably will not make it. If he is a trophy to you than whack him. wildthing
Nice PA bucks, but wouldn't make P&Y this year at least. They lack the overall tine length. I shot a 9 point very similar last year in archery. He looked huge coming through the woods, and even still when I retrived him, but after drying he measured at about 115. Maybe give him 1 more year...as tough as it might be to do.
Guest AReed
I don't think that either is p&y, the bigger might score 115-120 still nice bucks though
123 4/8 P&Y
I think the one in the background in the picture taken on 8/05 at 1:03am will make P&Y. He looks like a heavy bodied deer. The others will need another year for sure. If it were me, I'd hunt that buck and let the other three go until next year. I wish I had that much potential where I hunt. Guest totalscaf
8 point Either way they are all three very nice, but if this is on land that you have yearly access to (and a management program) then it couldn't hurt to give him one more year. Rhino
The smaller 8 point definately will not come close to P&Y. He's at least a year younger than the other buck too. With the bigger 8 point, it depends on how much more tine length he adds to the G3's and how much more main beam length he adds too. It should be close but I think he'll fall a few inches short of netting 125. Nice PA buck. Hope you get to measure him yourself this fall. Guest COACH J.
Not P&Y but the bigger one is nice.
Bownarow
Not P&Y yet. I doubt they are even 3.5 yr old deer. Next year they will be worth an arrow. If you need to fill the freezer, I'm sure there are plenty of does out there.
8ptbuckpa
Thanks for your comments guys. There aren't very many does around here 3 mature does with 3 fawns. It is my family land but we have 6 acres the guy beside us have 26 so they roam a good bit outside our area. I am going to take a shot at one of them if it is given(if I get a new bow in time for the season). Without a lot of luck these 3 won't make it back next year there is a guy and his son that walk out there back door a 100 ft into a made up blind and hunt rifle. However there are 8 houses in a 100yard radius some as close as 20 ft. the bad thing is we have no proof b/c we are not at home on the first day the 3 houses next to him are family of his so they won't turn him in. its scary that one stray bullet and it could possibly go through our living room window. c_lou
Got a couple of shooters there, regardless if they are P&Y. Good Luck getting one of them.
buckbuster11
I pretty much agree with the others. I think the bigger one will be right around the 125". The smaller one isn't close though. You'll see when the velvet comes off.
