Texan_Til_I_Die
Early Sunday morning I got that call that no one ever wants to get. My best friend's son, who was like a son to me, had been killed in a wreck. Without anyone knowing about it, he and two of his friends had decided to take my hunting jeep out for a late night joyride. He lost control on a lonely back country road, hit the ditch and all three boys were thrown out. By the grace of God, two of them escaped with only minor injuries, but Ty was killed instantly. I stayed with the family all day yesterday and most of last night. As tore up as I feel inside, I just can't imagine what those parents are going through. If anyone ever needed prayers, it's those two. Ty was their only child.

NYBUCK
Tex, I know the feeling. A few years ago I had a cousin killed right after graduation. There is no way to describe the feeling of such a loss. Prayers to you and the family.

bowana
Tragedy Had to fly home from Germany some 23 years ago to bury my younger brother. Happened 2 miles from the house. My parents had five kids so as tragic as it was, the years and numerous grand kids helped ease the pain. I cannot imagine the pain with him as an only child. This will take a lot of healing and love from friends and family. My prayers go out!

wildside
As a parent, I get sick to my stomach at even the slightest thought of life on earth without my children. This is tragic and surely painful beyond words for the family, as well as for you, Texan. You, the family, and all affected by this terrible loss are in the prayers of many. Thank God for the promise of life-everlasting to all believers. I hope he was one.

Newarcher
Very sorry to hear that Texan..... I hate to be the cynic of the group, but watch out. Did they steal your jeep (aka hotwire the jeep) or were the keys in it? Grief can be a horrible thing and cause people to do weird things. I hope this doesn't somehow come back to haunt you. Texan_Til_I_Die
Here's a pic from before the wreck. And here it is today. As you can see, the interior is completely intact and there is relatively little body damage. The roll bar certainly did it's job. This looks like a situation where wearing a seatbelt would likely have saved a life. Look and learn from this people.
Guest Andrea
None of the men in my family wear seat belts. I have yet to figure out why not............ This is a very sad tragedy that could have been avoided. I feel so sorry for his parents.
