Leo
I really don't understand this. The Browning Golds are a more feature rich package than the Winchester SX2. Brownings have speed loading, magazine cut off and an oversized safety button. Fit and finish is arguably better on the Browning but the guts are essentially the same shotgun as the SX2. Winchester and Browning are now owned by the same holding company. They've obviously shared the technology and parts. To top it off, the Brownings are once again made in Belgium. Which consumers have been screaming about for years. And yet, quite a few people talk bad about the Browning shotgun. Then in the same breath, they go on to rave about the SX2. Honestly, I just don't get it. I really don't.
LifeNRA
I love my Browning 500G, they are no longer made. This has the Browning hump back design too! But mine still shoots as good today as the day I bought it! Now if I had the money, there would be a new 3.5" Browning Gold in my collection! WaCoyote
I can't figure that out either. I LOVE my brownings. I don't own a gold but maybe someday. I still like my pumps and SxS.
Guest beagleman
My grandpa has a Browning B-80 upland special, its one sweet firecraker. If I had to guess why the Gold gets no respect. It would probably be either that Benielli and Beretta seem to own the auto market currently and it helps that they sponsor alot of outdoor tv shows. And Id have to say in my personal opion Browning is more concerned with their O/U's and Pump guns then the auto's. And I guess in my above statement I should enclude T/C as well, even though its a single shot.
LifeNRA
I still think Browning should have never got rid of the hump back design. I know they still make the A5, at least I hope so!
Strut10
Maybe it's because the SX2 outsells the Browning?? I'm guessing more folks (because of a budget) would opt for the Winny over the Browning, therefore there'd be more opinions on the SX2. I don't think anyone disrespects the Gold. Just more people (including me) have the SX2. The extra couple features on the Gold really didn't interest me. So I chose to save a few bucks and have not regretted it once. Browning has a $100 mfrs rebate going on brand new Browning Gold's. With that rebate it is actually possible right now to get a brand new Browning for the same price as the SX2. I saw this very situation a couple weeks ago at Bass Pro Shop. After rebate same price on both guns.
EKYhunter
Browning does get the respect, there's just not a lot of guys on here that shoot them. I had one and I loved it. Worse mistake I made was trading it for a sbe.
