carbonhunter
red label The red label was the first O/U i owned back when i was 16 I loved that gun could hit anything with it. The ONLY problem i ever had with it was a freezing safety. But it was on a day when it was about -25 with windchill in Iowa. I had had the gun in and out of a warm car all day on the last drive a bird got up and i couldnt get the safety off. I used that gun for everything, even shot a deer with it. Would buy another one in a heartbeat

Strut10
I'd say it'd make a fine gun if it fits you well. I handled the Red Label, at length, when I was deciding which O/U I was ging to get. I did not choose it because I was looking more for a trap & sporting gun than a field gun. the Ruger felt a little heavy in my hands but would have been my second choice (2nd to the Cynergy Field) if I was looking for a hunting gun.
