toddyboman
Well yes lots of minor league players get called up this time of year. But we all remember this guy pitching woes. But now he is an outfielder. Tonight he started for the Cards and went 1-4 that one hit was a 3 run homer. Congrats to Rick for all he went through great to see he was able to make it back and be able to help out. :)
Guest COACH J.
That always happens for STL. players!!!
rhine16
Not a St Louis fan, but it is very awesome that Ankiel has been able to do this. Takes a lot of athleticism to be able to come back and become a position player.
buckbuster11
It's pretty awesome seeing a guy make it all the way to the big leagues as a pitcher and then to make it back as a hitter. And not just any hitter, that guy had 30 HR's or something in AAA didn't he? He could be a pretty good player for them.
toddyboman
You are correct john. he did lead the club with 30 some HR. :D Hey and if the Cards are ever getting slaughtered and run out of pitchers they have a position player to go to. ;) :p Actually somebody asked Tony that and he said NO WAY would I ever do that. only if Rick wanted to and even then he said probably not.
