Car Dealers and discounts

Well I'm thinking about buying a new truck. Through my workplace I am eligible for the Ford X-plan, which means I can get the vehicle for 4% over the dealer net invoice. Now how do I go about it. I feel like if I tell them right away i have the x-plan they are going to swindle me regardless. Or is it even worth it, b/c right now you can get pretty good deals on the 2007 models. Is there anywhere i could find, or anyone who has an idea of the mark up over the dealer invoice? Has anyone used a discount of this sort?

Any help is appreciated.

I use my companys X-plan to buy my truck. It was an instant 5300 off the sticker. If you can get the vehicle for 4% over the dealer net invoice, I would want to see the dealers invoice to make sure I was getting the correct discount.

You should print out your companys X-plan to take with you so they can verify the plan number.

I used my company discount which was $5,000 off the purchase price when I bought my Tahoe last year. I also know the manager at the dealership and he gave me the $5,000 off plus took another $5,000 off. I ended up getting it below invoice with a total of $11,000 off. Sometimes the dealer will waive the discounts and give you better offers if you talk with them some. I have found that if you deal with the general manger or one of the non commisioned people at the dealership you can get a better deal a lot of the time. Good luck with getting your truck.
