Smitteken
Well I'm thinking about buying a new truck. Through my workplace I am eligible for the Ford X-plan, which means I can get the vehicle for 4% over the dealer net invoice. Now how do I go about it. I feel like if I tell them right away i have the x-plan they are going to swindle me regardless. Or is it even worth it, b/c right now you can get pretty good deals on the 2007 models. Is there anywhere i could find, or anyone who has an idea of the mark up over the dealer invoice? Has anyone used a discount of this sort? Any help is appreciated. jcwa
I use my companys X-plan to buy my truck. It was an instant 5300 off the sticker. If you can get the vehicle for 4% over the dealer net invoice, I would want to see the dealers invoice to make sure I was getting the correct discount. You should print out your companys X-plan to take with you so they can verify the plan number.
dfol20
Do you have to buy a new car? Because if you do you lose everything you saved plus some when you drive it off the lot. You have to keep in mind that the "plans" are still advertising schemes. You are better off paying cash for a 4 year old.
archerjg
I used my company discount which was $5,000 off the purchase price when I bought my Tahoe last year. I also know the manager at the dealership and he gave me the $5,000 off plus took another $5,000 off. I ended up getting it below invoice with a total of $11,000 off. Sometimes the dealer will waive the discounts and give you better offers if you talk with them some. I have found that if you deal with the general manger or one of the non commisioned people at the dealership you can get a better deal a lot of the time. Good luck with getting your truck.
