SuperMn106
I am really excited for tommorow. I am going on my first ever trip to target Muskie. I have never caught one before and it is the fish that I have wanted to catch the most. My cousins husband is taking me out and we are going to lake that is supposed to be loaded with them. Back in 1999 and 2000 the DNR planted about 1400 muskies that were 11" long, and the lake is only 400 so it really isnt that big of a lake. Hopefully i will have some pictures for you guys tommorow. SuperMn106
Thanks, It didn't work out like I planned. It was raining this morning when we got there but stopped within 5 mins of us putting in the water. The water was muddy, maybe a foot to 2 feet of visibilty at most. We tried topwater, cranks, spinners and tried some trolling with no action all day. It was cloudy and sunny off and on. Oh well I heard Musky fishing was like that, Fish of 10,000 casts and I feel like I made that many today . With all of the heavy equipment and lures boy I am sure tired. Maybe next time I will get a look at one.

Randy
All you need is that first follow, it's all downhill from there!! Don't give up, it's alot like bowhunting. You need to learn where they live first, then you need to learn to approach where they live, then one day when conditions are right they will come out from hiding and eat your bait!! It's an incredible feeling to know that you put everything together and caught a musky! Good luck next time and don't give up.

The guy i went out with said he has caught about 10-15 this year, the biggest one being 48 1/2. He was telling me about how on the top water lures when they follow it in from far out sometimes you can see the wake in the water coming at it. He also said he had one this year jump out of the water and hit the lure on the way back down. I am getting excited again just thinking about it. lol
