wtnhunt
Been looking at calls and trying to figure out what to buy. I can rule out an expensive electronic caller. I only have about 90 acres to call on and hunt for coyotes. The way our land is there is the property drops off into the river bottom and there is hundreds of acres of nasty swampy mess behind us. I am hoping I will be able to possibly draw some yotes into my fields with some old deer parts and some calling. Was looking at the primos double whammy . It is like $20. Having never attempted to call coyotes other than a fawn bleat would this be a good call to start out with? Any other suggestions and if so where the calls can be gotten? jcwa
Re: primos calls I don't think the primos double whammy would be a good call for a beginner. The double whammy would be alittle hard to start out with since it is a double reed call. The primos Ki-Yi and the Lil Dog call would be a better choice to start out with. The Ki-Yi is several calls in one, you can use the call to sound like a jack rabbit. cottontail rabbit, fawn distress and coyote Ki-Yi. The Lil dog is several call in one also. You can sound like a jack rabbit. cottontail rabbit, bird distress, fawn distress, doe distress. coyote howls, barks and coyote Ki-Yi. The Lil dog comes with two different size reed mouth pieces for different tones.
sureshot
Re: primos calls I have never tried it, I use alot of the primos calls, really like the regulater 14 I believe it is, I also have had super luck with the mini mag howler,I also have had good luck with the raspy coaxer, it is a jackrabbit call and a mouse squeeker all in 1 just cover the end and there is a little squeeker in it, Then there is the still jackrabbit and cottontail calls, both good!good luck on your choice! wtnhunt
Re: primos calls Thanks for the suggestions guys. Cabelas carries all those you guys mentioned. Think I will get the raspy coaxer with the regulator 10 combo pack, comes with an instuctional video, and also the lil dog or the ki-yi or maybe both, and see if I can do any good with calling.
