Rhino
Boy was this buck a real camera hound. He showed up at this mineral lick twice last week to pose for my camera. The 1st time was during the middle of afternoon and he hung around for 21 minutes. That's probably the warmest time of the day righ now. The 2nd time was early in the morning close to dawn 2 days later and he hung around for 20 minutes then too. He sure wasn't bothered by the flash either. I have lots of pics to choose from on this buck. Here's 4 of them, 2 daylight and 2 early morning pics. About 20 yards from this mineral lick is a honey locust tree loaded with bean pods. It's one of those trees that has a history of dropping during the early part of bow season. We'll have one of my close friend's 2 man ladder stands set up to hunt this spot with his 11 year old son. I'll be pulling for my little buddy to have a close encounter with this buck.

Rhino
Is that a good deer for that area Alan? He's pretty good for this area Chris but there are some bigger bucks around. I'm still looking for one to really fire me up and put me on an October mission down here. He appears to lack mass past his brow tines but has pretty good tine length for this area. 10 point genes are very rare around these parts. My young buddy that will be going after this buck killed a nice 8 point last year on opening day of bow season. It was his 1st ever bowhunt too. His hunt along with pics was written up in the local paper too. That buck was still in velvet when he killed it. Made a great looking mount. I posted that story last fall. I had 27 trail cam pics of that buck last year but he was on more of a predictable daily pattern than this on. At least it seems so at this point. I've got 37 pics of this buck from the 2 visits he made to that mineral lick last week. He's traveling with a 2 year old 6 point. This buck is a little bigger than the one he killed last year. My guess is he'll gross score in the mid 120's unless he adds something that I'm not expecting from revewing the pics. Hopefully we'll have another celebration come Oct. 1st this year too.
