Whats your favorite....

I am a sucker for small, really handy pieces of hunting eqiuptment. It can't be cumbersome, or not have a good use. Just something that I consider invaluable in the woods. My favorite believe it or not is a 3 legged stool that weighs about 1lb that cost me $2.96 plus tax. I like to treestand hunt, but man this stool is so light and easy to carry in an out that when I am in the mood to scout/hunt new areas, it is awesome to have. It is probably my favorite piece of equiptment. What is yours?

I've got one of them 3 legged stools too. This is my second one now, since I wore the first one out.

I love them for the same reasons you do. Light and not cumbersome, and with 3 legs, they sit more stable on uneven ground as opposed to 4 legs.

I only wish they made them just a tad taller, to ease my bad back.

Polaris 500 H.O.

Not cheap at all but its quiet as all get out. Powerful and gets me where i need to go quickly. Also i can leave gear on my ATV thats easily accesible. Like my hatchet, scent box, rope, raincoat, blind, extra arrows/shells. Secondary firearms, warmer clothes, tracking markers, food. Yep, deffinantly my favorite.

I have to agree with strut and snapper. My laser rangefinder, and my motorola, are my two favorite gadgets. Everywhere I sit now, even gun hunting, first thing I do is pull out the rangefinder, and shoot yardages of any place I have a shot.

As for the motorola, it is just awsome to be able to contact whoever you are hunting with, to help with a deer, or to just meet up for lunch.

Good one! I actually forgot about that one. I have one of the cheaper model Motorolas right now, but am hoping to get the ones with the 5 mile range, the security codes and maybe the weather broadcast channel. When hunting the Adirondacks, the weather changes vary quickly and due to the hills you can't see it coming until its too late.

I recently bought a pair of the 6500T Motorola's so I could stay in contact with Shawn and Bob. but my wife seems to usr them more than me to get the weather forecast....LOL.

The best little item I have for hunting is my new camo backpack that converts to a fanny pack when all the other stuff isn't needed...

Re: Whats your favorite....

For me now would be My Garmin Vista! Now I can get into the areas I always wanted to go and make it back to the truck!!! Also would be my radio's too! My father and I have The Motorola Talkabout Distance DPS. We just bought the Midland's 12 mile version Radio, its smaller and uses less batteries. But it still works about the same as the Motorola's so far. But it doesnt matter as long as my father likes them we will keep them! I also have three other FRS Motorola radios, but they make too much noise for hunting! So the family and I use them when we go to Cabela's, or Hershey Park, or when we need to stay in contact!
